My husband traded in the same pit as Peter Steidlmayer at the CBOT in the early 1980's. Peter convinced the CBOT directors to bankroll the development of price data distributed in some Market Profile. He watched YOUR video along with me. He brought up names from the past who were instrumental in the early development of Market Profile. He remembered some CBOT directors who later said Peter wasted the CBOT's money in the profile development. But he said YOUR video is one of the best he's seen on KZbin channel. Great video and very helpful! Just recently started learning about volume profile, determining order flow with bid&ask charts, and now TPO charts. It's almost like trading with only indicators and price action was the the equivalent of being in a dark and cluttered room, but now the light has been turned on! I was blind, but now I see!!!!

It could be used as a long indication, but that just by itself is not enough to start a position in my opinion. The market was likely moving too fast there anyhow to actually pull off an entry.

This is a lot of good basics. Do you have a definite trade plan based on TPO with definite rules of acceptance/rejection of prior value areas and defined entry criteria for taking the trades?

No I do not, the basis of my trade plans come from trend and price action interpretation with the assistance of market profile to help define where balance and acceptance are. also highly attentive to the poor high / poor low phenomenon when it presents itself.

trade brigade question regard the weak low and high so to match it witch a prior POC or value area levels has to be a limit distance lets say 10 $ or very close to. or just a desent distance ?

Not entirely sure that I understand your question here. A weak level is when there is confluence of a set of highs or lows at previous highs or lows, value area high or low, a point of control, or either extreme of single prints. It wasnts to be in the range of striking distance. There is no guaranteed rule for how far or close something MUST be. the close the better, the further the worse.

Excellent information and you are a great teacher. I realize this must be used with market internals, etc. however, when you mentioned taking calls at the bottom and puts at the top of a well balanced profile, That really wouldn't be a possibility would it? After all, you wouldn't know that it was a textbook bell curve until the day was over and it had completed its shape.

The volume Value Area looks lopsided at 19:42. There's far more light blue below the dark blue area than there is light blue above the dark area. How are the bounds of the dark blue area determined?

70% of the days trading volume. It might look lopsided, but Ill take computerized calculations over the naked eye any day!

I'll throw you another one from a traditionalist; The Opening Range and Initial Balance are two separate things. The OR is the first few minutes of trade (3 minutes), and the IB is the first hour. The two are used for very different things/reasons. The OR is an area of change, similar to a prior session pullback low or rally high. If the market drives and extends the range up in a session but later trades through the opening range and finds acceptance within and/or below it then something has changed.
