I do wonder if some sort of operation will be created so you can do the merge options in edit mode such as merge at last selected. I like watching your videos. some principles I have explored but I watch yours to see if I may have missed some stuff.

Some things can't be done because working in Edit Mode you can select anything with the mouse and apply an operation. However, in Geometry Nodes we don't use the mouse to create selections inside a geometry. We need to create rules using nodes like Index, Position, Math, etc. So it's more complicated to achieve the same things as edit mode. But the best part is that we can undo, redo or program any operation with nodes. But in Edit Mode you can only undo some steps if you didn't do too many steps after. If not, you can't. It's a destructive mode. So, every technique (edit move vs Geometry Nodes) have their pros and cons. Sometimes is better to do it in Edit Mode than GN and sometimes in the other order :)

@@Xan3D I did create a custom node with a set position node and an evaluate at index node so I can connect points to other points. I could just add a merge by distance at the very end
