What I did was play the game normally, but take a screenshot whenever weather types I could accurately put down would occur (such as thunderstorms, double rainbows, meteor showers). I then used those screenshots I'd taken as reference to put into MeteoNook. I never bothered with entering precise shooting star data, I just input whenever there was a star event, because I was too scared of making a mistake. This method took longer, but I was more confident in its accuracy.

look at the weather patterns doc and if you have fine02, fine04, or fine06 you have a light meteor shower. record the minutes and gaps for those and you will get it in one day, its just a lot of waiting. those weather patterns are pretty common, i usually get them at least once a week. also enter in if you have special clouds. if you dont have a meteor shower its pretty easy to find the weather pattern for the day so just enter a few hours of weather.

It took me a week, and multiple resets of my info to finally get my seed. And let me tell you it's worth the work recording info to get the seed. Every time I play I'm checking my seed For those what are still struggling, here is a tip. As Kora mentioned, stars are the quickest way to find your seed. Note, once you have stars that day will always have stars. So given you remember the exact day, or have a pic of the day, you can time travel back to that day and get a recording

She comes once a week, after 7pm, always on a clear night sky with shooting stars. She usually wanders on higher levels of your island, mostly where there aren't too many trees (to have a better view of the sky I presume), or on the beach

OMG I FOUND MINE!! So what you have to do is time travel forward or back to a day you know how to meteor shower and then you want to record it for one minute using a phone or whatever recorder switch and then go back and count how many stars and count the exact seconds and I did this and it only took two minutes of counting star seconds and it found my seed! and this is amazing and accurate and I love it

I spent a good few hours time traveling and taking a screenshot on every hour in order to get my seed. I had to reset all the data like 4 times at least. Taking advantage of the "I'm not sure" between 2 types of weather option. It takes longer but helps make sure you don't mess up. I tested my seed every time I added data at one point hahaha. It is... a long process.

This is a total game-changer 🙌✨ I'd never heard of MeteoNook before so THANK YOU for making a video about this! Looking at the comments, I was expecting to have a really frustrating time trying it out but it found my seed on my first try! Here's what I did: I found a screenshot of celeste in my camera roll and time-traveled to that date and time. Then I opened up the clock on my laptop because it shows the exact seconds. Every time a star shot across the sky, I took a screenshot of my laptop screen. Then I used the screenshots of my laptop clock to record the exact seconds in MeteoNook. I only needed to record ten stars total to find my seed! (Be careful! My switch clock was a full TEN SECONDS faster than my laptop clock! But all I had to do was add 10 seconds to each of the times I had recorded.) Maybe this will help someone???

The creator of the tool recommends not to use seconds since there is not exact way to tell ingame, just go for minutes and gaps, is a more reliable way to find your seed

I recently restarted my island. Day after I joined, it was a shooting star night. Light shower, not heavy. Still managed to find the right seed with ONE DAY'S data.

So.. I tried this after not knowing what the program was at all-- your video was the first time I'd ever heard of such a thing. Had it paused and 1:48 on a monitor while I tracked a day. Nighttime rolls around, and it said I'd have a chance for stars. Put in star information (without seconds) for about an hour and it found my seed SaMe day. after resetting my island once again i actually tried the shooting star method bc on my other islands the normal weather method didn't work. now I was completely done after maybe an hour - including figuring out to maybe use a stopwatch, setting it up just when the clock in acnh strikes, and then pressing "new round" with each shooting star. I tracked maybe 5-6 minutes and you have to make sure you can keep all the data, that's basically it. that way i only needed to enter 2 shooting star minutes and the rest was more for me to check whether the seed is actually the correct one. anywho, thanks kora for introducing that website to me, now i can finally use it properly after a year xD

I set up MeteoNook back in August, and that was so helpful! I, too, wanted to find out when meteor showers would occur. I messed up a few times because I hadn't read properly the rules the first time and put in some data from the second half of an hour… thus falsifying the results. But, as you said, looking back to some old screenshots really helps, and even if you didn't get a heavy meteor shower, if you get the chance to see some stars: take a video of it!! I don't remember entering the seconds in, but know that if you're unlucky and didn't get any or that many shooting stars, you'll just need some extra weather data and you'll be good to go. This website is really so helpful, and it's a shame that it's not too well-known.

I used a night I had Celeste (not a heavy shooting stars night) and stood on a beach rock and looked up at the sky starting at 7pm (I like the beach area cuz the music is quieter and you stand a better chance of hearing the star "chime") then wrote down the stars when they appeared. You should get 5 for the whole minute (60 seconds) I just wrote the 5 of that minute down as one for the exact time (no seconds - example: 19:49). It took me 7 entries and 2 1/2 hours to get my seed. But it's spot on.

I finally got both my first meteor shower and my seed tonight thanks to this vid! I didn’t even know MeteoNook existed, but it’s a good thing I saw this when I did. It’s apparent that I was only gonna have 3 light showers and 0 heavy showers this month. this took me over an hour cause im dumb. my clock on my switch was ahead by about 3 seconds, i was looking for clocks online with the second counter and i was too lazy to figure out another way to do it, or if there was a way to get the seconds counter on my switch, and idk how to record it (even tho i have an elgato.. its not hooked up and been a while since ive used it). I spent some amount of time just trying to add 3 seconds to all my numbers but. the variable is 4 seconds LATE and so. well time math is hard. I ended up using a stopwatch and hitting GO when the minute started and that got me what i wanted. thanks for sharing this!

Took me ages to get mine working lol. I kept messing up with the weather and clouds so decided to try out the meteor shower one as I knew when to find one and finally it worked! I used an online timer to find out the exact second a shooting star came but as I had to start it manually when my AC clock ticked over to 7pm it was slightly off and so at first I got the error that the data was wrong which worried me... but then I put all the star seconds forward by 1 and that worked (as MeteoNook allows you to be late by up to 4 seconds with star times, but not early so I assume I was off by a little). So if anyone is struggling with getting their seconds correct while using a timer try putting every logged star forward by 1 or 2 seconds and that might work. In total I only needed to input 5 minutes worth of stars but actually took me about 20 minutes while waiting and a bit of troubleshooting at the end haha.

A word of advice: use the star tracking, not the weather. Trust me, you'll thank me later. I got so confused trying to tell apart sunny from cloudy, cloudy from rain clouds, rain from heavy rain, etc. I spent hours on several attempts to track my weather from my old screenshots/videos, and none of them worked, but when I tracked 9 stars from a light shower, it found two seeds to match my island, and after time-traveling one day forward I found my seed.

I suggest to put in the days you see Aurora or shooting stars. Also weather in the morning. I do NOT suggest to put in information in the evening/night bc honestly clouds at night look like rain clouds, so there is a big chance to get something wrong. if you have fine02, fine04, or fine06 for the day, it is a light meteor shower. if you cant use seconds it is good to record a light meteor shower because they are rare bursts. i got my seed in one light meteor shower with a few gaps and no seconds and a few days of weather patterns. i think billow clouds would also help.

i figured mine out on the first day i started tracking things because there was a meteor shower! it took several hours and a few mistakes but it worked! don't give up!! quick tip: take a screenshot as each shooting star comes just in case you have to redo all the information! good luck!!

It took me days to get mine because I was using light meteor showers from the pics I took and, even though I knew that days end at 5 am, I had a couple of incorrect entries past midnight. I was using the date of the picture instead of the (completely confusing for me) animal crossing date system. I found mine on my third try, but I did it by just inputting the weather a few hours out of the day. It’s easiest to do it this way in spring/fall since summer/winter is a lot of the same weather all day long.

I was able to get my seed in 30 minutes. I couldn't get the seconds to work on stars, so just labeled if I got stars or didn't get stars each minute for 30 minutes and that was all it took.

I been trying to find my seed for the past few days. First few tries I think I put in a bunch of info wrong. Then I got a meteor shower a couple days ago, I tracked the stars by minute for a few hrs, but couldn't be bothered to do seconds lolololol But i guess that wasn't specific enough without seconds cuz it still told me they need more info, so Imma go back in and add back data from the days I'm sure of the weather (edit: after cataloging a lot of today's hourly weather and adding back in data from previous days i was sure of, i did manage to find my seed. woo!!!)

Thanks for the guide, this really helped me find my weather seed. Luckily I took screenshots of celeste and meteors (as well as some with rain). I would like to add that when you start the sharing process on your screenshots, it will display the very day, hour, and minute you took the image. And it looks like I'm going to get a Double Rainbow at noon on Wednesday. If I see one, I will know 100% if I got my see correct lol

I had a hard time getting it. Took approx. over a month. Why? Because for one it was entering the sunny/clear days too specifically meaning I could have got it wrong. So I stopped entering sunny/clear weather. I only entered the snow and I didn't specify if heavy or light, as snow/rain is continuous for the whole hour. The 10th of Dec had to be left out eventually as well as it was a clear day for me but the site assumed it had to have snow at least once that day. I have a nice clear sky picture at 10:01pm. All the patterns that day should be snow or clouds at 10pm. First K.k or new resident wasn't an issue making it a fine pattern, the site just wasn't updated to it being different. For this same reason, you have to leave any event days past the winter update out. When I did get only several seeds show up without the impossible thing, I also would like to note that you should click them individually. Don't try opening them in new tabs. This confused me for ages about how the seeds I was getting were ignoring certain shooting star days. The reason being is that the seeds opened in new tabs are completely different to what you actually clicked on. So this was it's own nightmare, making me feel as if I'd entered info incorrect for days before I noticed. So yeah, my advice is be very loose with entries. Be unsure. Don't do entries on event days. When you enter stars, go by the minute not the seconds. Being just a second off can screw you over. My seed is 121569245

I spent an hour looking at stars and putting them down (I didnt do seconds, because I didnt want to fuck it up), just for it to say it couldnt find my seed. So i changed one of gaps (it was for a single minute) to stars (because I wasnt really paying attention so there mightve been stars). And after I changed that the thing told me I had at 19:34 I had it labelled both a gap and a star. Which I check and it was listed as a star and only a star. I had two gaps around that number by neight included said number. Which were 19:31-33 and 19:35-39 😕. Yeah... I'm not wasting my time to do that again.

Haven't messed with the star timing to the second yet. But I have a double rainbow, light shower, and heavy shower recorded and it's narrowed it down to 12 seeds. Hopefully when I try timing the stars to the second, it'll give me a correct seed. The few times I got it narrowed down to 2 seeds was when I had timed about 2 hours of stars to the minute in a light shower, had the double rainbow, and a few stray hours of weather I had in screenshots from months ago. Needless to say, the 2 seeds it gave me were wrong, but one of them did lead me to a correct heavy shower. So yeah I'm gonna try again with no weather records, just the double rainbow, the 4 groups of shooting stars I have recorded from the light shower, and some second accurate star timings from this heavy shower.

I time traveled back like three months and entered data from that time because the bug off event was throwing off my seed.

I almost completely messed up my seed. I didn't really know what a light meteor shower looked like so I filled in that there was none after looking at the sky for 5 minutes. as you might have guessed, there was actually a meteor shower and I barely managed to notice that after I saw celeste. Then I got lucky amd found a few sets of stars and found the seed within half an hour. also a tip if you want to do a shooting star to the second, make sure the clock is on screen and screen record your switch after you see a star. then you can go through the footage to determine the seconds. there's like a 4 second space of room so you don't have to be perfect.

Important to know that the app is using regular GMT so people who aren't from the UK will want to first double check that its on the right date and not the day after.

Personally how I found my seed is I had a day with a light meteor shower. Every time I saw a shooting star I would wait till it changed to the next minute then saved a clip on my switch. Then I sent it to my phone. Now time to find the exact seconds. If in the clip the time changed from one time to the next in my case the stars appeared during 7:44 and in the 30s clip it changed to 7:45 at 27 seconds this means whatever time in the clip a star appeared I would have to add 33 seconds (60 - time when minute changed). Next you'll want to take when any stars appeared in the clip. I suggest starting from the end of the clip and working your way back. In my case I had a light shower so I would start at star 5 when putting it into MeteoNook. You then want to add your what Im going to call seconds not captured (SNC for short. this is the result of the 60 - TWMC) and add that to the time when the star appeared in the clip (or when you heard the sound of a star appearing if you can't visually see it if you're behind a building or something) this makes finding your exact seed a lot easier especially if stars are so few and far between. For me the last star in the minute appeared at 24 seconds meaning it appeared 57 seconds into the minute. Using this method I did some testing and used 3 different minutes on 1 day of a light meteor shower. The first minute at 7:44 had 4 stars I was able to record seconds for. At 7:52 I had two stars I recorded the seconds for. At 8:20 I had 3 stars but at first it had said it couldn't find a seed as one star had come at 8:20:58 and I had wished on it. If you didn't know during the wishing animation the in-game timer disappears. This had made me think the time had changed at 28 seconds (the time when the time reappeared after wishing on the star) when it had actually changed at 27 seconds. I figured this was the case so I raised each star in the calculations by one second which gave me my seed. So this is a great method to find you seed in one night for but if you're doing this I'd suggest not wishing on the last one in a batch of 5 as it could mess up you're calculations. For me personally I found that I had at least one per week. Also you can put your weather data into MeteoNook just to see if you have a chance of getting a meteor shower (heavy showers appear on Fine00 days, and light showers appear on Fine02, Fine04, Fine06 days). Feel free to try this method yourself and tell me how it goes.

I just time travel forward a day at the start of any month until Isabelle tells me there’s a meteor shower, I wish on a few stars the time travel forward a day and then back a day and repeat

Went back to april 2020 to find my seed, counting the seconds of about 11 shooting stars. Before that, i found about 25 incorrect seeds. Took me 3 days but it was worth it. Best way to find your seed is to count the seconds that shooting stars come up in a heavy meteor shower, but make sure to have a good sense of how to count seconds, since there is no in game clock for seconds. Good luck finding your seed everyone!

Meteonook gave me a single wrong seed about five times, before I got the right one. The last one was using ONLY meteor time data; evidently interpreting the weather type was too fuzzy for me!

I remember I inserted everything correctly and I had the correct seed, but eventually, the previously correct seed decided to not be accurate anymore. So I'm having to start over and I'm still getting inaccurate seeds.
