War Fans actually were a big thing in Japanese Warfare for a while, mostly being used for signaling people, which is pretty well represented in grabbing aggro, but they could also be used as weapons if truly necessary.

Really wish we could get some insight or something into the 500 years this guy spent. He has loads of story potential yet to be seen. How did his personality change so much? How did he develop an American accent? When did he, Jin and Malos meet and why did he join them? Did he really survive the fight with the Titan of Indol? Could him being a blade eater have saved him? Was his memory about Mythra wiped or something by Jin/Malos so he didn’t change sides? There’s so much potential here and it just makes me want more Xenoblade 2 stuff (preferably with a well directed English dub and good budget), this story is so expansive and captivating that it makes me wonder if its story dlc needs story dlc.

He's like a funnier version of Boreas. I think he's fun. I don't have much else to say about him as a blade, but Mikhail is absolutely one of my favorite characters in this game.

Sadly, Mikhail has those few lines in the middle of XC2's plot that make him come off as kinda... perverted, I guess. Like, put some respect on Morag, dude. But he makes up for it with some very nice moments towards the end of the game and using him in battle is so much fun too.

Huh. Gravity Pinwheel is pretty similar to Crow Dancer. Unfortunately it seems to be significantly weaker since Crow Dancer gives perfect evasion on top of Blowdown, whereas Gravity Pinwheel is completely negated by Mik's own evasion. At least it's active all the time and affects the entire party. [EDIT] he "has a history with these two"? Jin's basically his dad. P.S. I kind of like putting Mik on Nia as the ultimate F' you to the entire Blade system.

I quite like his tool kit and the design for his weapon. I would change Dimensional Fold to add a damage boost of 50% when you have aggro. Gravity Pinwheel would also give the driver double aggro gain from arts and specials. For his weapons, I would change it to have a 10% change to reflect damage back at the enemy. I would also boost his crit rate by 10%.

I want to mention, Gravity Pinwheel is useless if the enemy's arts make them immune to reactions, and there are a lot of enemies that have arts like this.

Loving these videos and all your research and editing to present this information cleanly for my first playthrough. I'm looking for 1. resources on what to do in the early-midgame (just started Chapter 5), and 2. advice about AI-controlled Blades. Like, I love knowing the tier list and which blades are really worth investing in, but I'm curious who is best to set-and-forget to trust that the AI will make best use of them. Also 3. accessories and AUX cores that aren't V and farmed on superbosses, maybe chips to farm - the kind of stuff that gives me a little direction because this game is so menu-intensive that half the time I feel like i'm not playing the game, just trying to keep up with everything I'm being given. If anyone has advice or links I'd love it! Thanks Enel, you inspired me to pick up this game after playing XCDE

So I knew from one of your other guide vids about Dark element resisting the Doom status. Do other resistances like that exist? Like Wind being immune to Blowdown or something? Just seems weird that there would only be one element that resists one status effect for no real good reason

Gotta say, having already recruited all the other rare blades and being satisfied with my common blades, it was kind of a shock to see that Mikhail's skill unlocks come from bonding more blades. Also, I have a lore question about him, iirc the new game plus mode is non canon, so I'm not concerned about why he can be equipped as a blade, I am confused by how the whole blade/flesh eater process impacts aging. Granted there are a few periods of undocumented activity during time skips, but Minoth/Cole is nearly dying of old age, but he's a flesh eater. As far as I can recall, the only flesh eaters we see during the game from the times of Torna are Amalthus and Mikhail. But Amalthus is the Praetor, so naturally he'd have access to all sorts of resources, and even he says that Mikhail shouldn't have access to quality blade eater technology. But that's not really addressed, Mikhail just goes basically "Nah, you thought wrong", but that doesn't answer the question. And I was kind of under the impression given how Zeke is a blade eater, that Zeke still ages normally, and flesh eaters like Nia, Patroka, Jin and Akhos don't age, bit once again Minoth has aged, but he still should be around as old as Jin. Anyway, if anybody has clarification that would be great. Edit: Also, was it clarified if Mikhail became a blade eater as a child or adult?

I know this is a year late, and I only have an answer to a small part of your overall question, but I'm pretty sure in regards to Minoth/Cole, its stated that the person he Ate the Flesh of was someone he had no particular relation/bond with, and as such his abilities as a Flesh Eater are weak. Since Jin and Nia Ate the Flesh of people very close to them, they age at an exceptionally slow rate and have overall greater power boosts.

I love Mik as a character, but I couldn't stand his weapon. Not that I hate the fans, but I just hate that they are clones of twin-rings. For some characters, it can be kinda awkward looking and having him be restricted to the end of NG+ made using him properly kinda difficult.

He IS a blade if we talk about gameplay. Just like Shulk, Fiora and Elma, they are not blades but it's still correct to say that "Shulk is a great blade" for exemple.
