Good stuff. In my early Revit days I didn’t know when to use which and it turns real messy real quick!

Haha I agree, can’t tell you how many times I find random model lines all over the place.

how can add hatches with my model lines. Im drawing french drains in revit, and I need to hatch fill it. I know in regular autocadd i could just hatch the area
@ArchitectureVanguard2 жыл бұрын
In the annotation tab, there is a region tool where you can add a hatch pattern.

This is great and I really like the content, but the music is very distracting. It is difficult to focus with it playing.

On 2:50 , How can i draw a line, that is vertically(perpendicularly) to the wall and it starts from level 1 up to level 2? i am trying but the line is always horizontally to level 1, cant give it height to reach above level 1
@ArchitectureVanguard4 жыл бұрын
You would need to first set the work plane to something vertical like a wall then draw a line in 3D that is perpendicular to a wall in plan.

Great tutorial, thanks a lot for your time, could you pls advise how to place a model on a surface which is not a wall, for ex., I would like to place a model line on each steps of a stadium auditorium
@ArchitectureVanguard4 жыл бұрын
You would first need to set the work plane then draw the lines. So you would have to set the work plan for the riser, draw the lines, then the tread and draw the line. You could do that or set the work plane to a side wall or stringer and draw the line in profile then just move the lines along the stair if you want.

I cannot select nor edit the model line. It does not show up in any other view except 'plan'. It comes in greyed out...yes I've checked VG. I've detached all view templates.
@ArchitectureVanguard2 жыл бұрын
I would check it in 3D as all model lines will show up there. Also, things showing up as gray may indicate they are ending up in a design option.

hi, you only talking where to show these lines. But what do you use them for?? i think these are useless lines, you cannot use them for any good. it would be better if we have these lines and basic tools to draw and design with them our models and plans, before we actually make the actual drawing.
@ArchitectureVanguard3 жыл бұрын
You can use them as anything really. The advantage is that they will show up in 3D as lines. You can use them for anything in 3D whether it's referencing for another element or as regular lines.

Can i make toilet?
@ArchitectureVanguard4 жыл бұрын
You cannot make a toilet with model lines but you can use model lines to make something like a toilet? I would probably use the pit of the box toilet Revit provides.

@@yazgamer1733 If you are looking for other models online, then I would check out Revit City or BIM Object. That said, all those models would not have anything to do with model lines.
