This dude has a really signature sound on his beats. Something quite heavy and dark. In every tutorial I get this feel. I love it. Hope you keep doing your videos in your own way. You feel very different from everybody else. Awesome production style in the beats and in the videos/explanation. I caught your livestream the other day and you said something that really crushed me, but in a good way. I thought I was getting better, but my switch ups were just taking instruments in some parts of the beat, halftime, etc. It's really cool that you have a different aproach in that topic. Promoting a more organic way of composing, instead of doing the same trick all over again. I would love some more tutorials in arrangment/transitions!
@NavieD

Hahah thanks man, yeah at this point I do have a sound that I like to go for. It's typically heavy and dark, or relaxed and smooth (like in my lofi videos maybe). Thanks for popping by the stream. I guess my intention with saying that is making sure you guys subject yourselves to new techniques and styles in different situations. It's easy to fall into a rut and do the same process over and over again, but at that point you are sacrificing your learning. I think there is real value in making sure you don't stay in a comfort zone, so I want to try my best to push you guys.

this video makes me really happy, because I noticed the way you mix is EXACTLY the way I mix, same process, everything. Except I start by turning all the faders down. Other than that, it's the same process. This means I'm doing really well with my mixes. My friends say my mixes sound really good, but I find it hard to believe them lol but now I do. I think I need to start the next phase: Vocal Mixing

🔥Brilliant!!! I thought using samples just meant dragging and dropping sounds that already exist into your own project, hence I didn't like the idea of using them as I thought they will steal from my learning process. From this video, I saw that you still need to use your own creativity to make the samples more interesting in endless ways.

@@NavieD word! Company Flow had the more bboy sounding Bomb Squad sound, Public Enemy and Ice Cube dealt with the funk version of Bomb Squad production...what I truly like when I hear multi samples in a song is the distortion, a lot of times, sounds are created within that audio chaos that are unbelievable...like that extra drum roll that bleeds into a kick or some reverbed sound, that produces some otherworldly harmonics.....great reference Company Flow and Run The Jewels had/have otherworldly harmonics in their sounds...El-P, genius level
