I'm in South Africa - FL opened up the doors for so many young artists here who wouldn't have been able to pursue their passion otherwise. FL is goated in my view.

One of my favorite producers. I’ve made beats with his samples on FL Cloud. 🔥🔥

Bro that HiHat tip really helped soooo much. Thank you so much. U were my first channel I watched when I started learning how to make beats. Now I can make classic Dilla/Nujabes beats but also Griselda style beats. Can't wait to keep experimenting with different genres 🔥👑

The dr dre bass synth on deep cover very well could be a moog but I believe its from the Studio Electronics Omega 8 synth which I know he used around this time which is also an analog synth very similar to a Moog but had 8 voices. Its what he used to create that classic "west coast/G-funk" sound...

It wasn't that he was using a computer. Cubasis had been out for over a decade (1989), which eventually became Cubase. It was that it was Fruity Loops and "real producers" whom used DAWs (Digital Audio Workstation)s didn't consider Fruity Loops a real DAW. I dont know if thats why they dropped the Fruity Loops and went with FL studio to make it sound more legit, but that was the reason I've always heard. I've owned 3 asr-10's a ton of MPC's and have used a ton of software. The end fact is, is the music good or not? Doesn't matter what you use. Great video!...

I Don't Know What Your Talking About? People Have Been Making Beats On Computers For 40 Years? He Definitely Wasn't The First, Not Even Close, I Don't Know Who Told You That?

I would’ve never gotten into making beats if it wasn’t for FL.I downloaded a cracked version in like 2001.I eventually did buy an MPC1000 and moved on from FL at least for sequencing but I still used a lot of the other tools on it.

The difference: PPQ. Pulse Per Quarter Note. Follow me...⬇ MPC 2000XL is 96 PPQ. FL Studio is 96 PPQ. Wuuut? The difference is clock cycles. Think of clock cycles, as the 'metronome' generated by the sequencers' microprocessor. Computers have more powerful microprocessors, (MP's) thus, stronger pulses, if you will, and higher resolutions. For example, you can slide a note over 1/384th's in the Elektron Black box because it's PPQ is 384. Now, an MPC has 96 PPQ, but this older tech can be slightly off, which is what gives it the "pocket" that makes it famous. While the MPC does have swing mode, it wasn't something used really which is the common misconception these days. An aspiring producer will go looking for swing/groove templates "from the MPC" and they aren't the same. Because it isn't swing, it's the PPQ, and clock resolution. How can you get this in FL? You can try going to Options > General Project Settings > Timebase and setting it to 24. It's not going to be exactly the same, but with some 'nudging' of notes, it will give more of the feel you're looking for. EDIT: This 2024, there is no hatred NOW for using computers/DAWs as there was back then, IF ANY. This is an irrelevant, non-issue. Not sure who Navie is running into saying this now.

The extra fun thing is, that the modular setup in FL is increasingly being copied by other DAW's. Many of them started incorporating things FL had from the get-go. Sometimes I hear people say, that a particular DAW is the best because it has a new feature which makes it superior to other DAW's but as an FL user who had this all along, I just chuckle.
