Got my pinkest pink and are waiting to get my green and yellow in the mail, I really like the properties of this pigment because if I only mix it with some water it behaves a lot like gouache - opaque but not waterproof. So I can adjust and create gradients and shades and color mixes on the canvas even after the pink has dried. My question is though, from what I know a lot of fluorescent colors and paints aren't very lightfast and the intensity can fade away if the artwork is placed on a wall where sunlight hits. How lightfast are your colors? I absolutely love the pink, it's really hard to capture the intensity of its color on camera!
@StuartSempleArt8 жыл бұрын
Foervraengd hello!!! I'm.gkas you're enjoying it and making stuff :) sadly no flourecents are very light fast - as they glow they give off colour - but you can always frame the work with an anti uv glass which will help or experiment with a good uv varnish. a spray fixatif will seal it then you should be able to varnish it :) you are right it's very like a gouache with water! have fun
@Foervraengd8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply! I will def look for some sort of UV protection if I use these colors in one of my bigger paintings!

After having learned the history between you and that dunce whose name we don't need to say, you're like Linus Torvalds in the computer world. BRAVO for standing up for COLOR, what a soldier for the cause of freedom of expression you are. You should be able to mix the powder directly into the resin. Give a good sir until there are no more lumps. I've seen others use it that way and have just ordered a few powders to try in resin as well.

Thank you so much! I'm new to painting and trying to figure things out... I know you're allergic to linseed oil, I'm guessing it just gets mixed in with the powder the same as the acrylic base a or water. 👍

No but that's a good idea ;) thank you!!!

Walnut oil is actually more clear and less prone to yellowing. I’ve not tried it myself but have heard many artists use only Walnut oil for oil paint making.

i absolutely LOVE the pinkest pink and other Culture Hustle powder pigments (eventually i want to try all CH products, including the orange and a rainbowy liquid one that are always sold out). truly i can't even express how much i love these pigments. However i keep having an issue of small little "crumbs"/ clumps of texture ending up on my actual painting. This seems to happen regardless of the specific medium i use, or the ratio, and despite lots of thorough mixing. and it's weird as the clumps are not evident inside the mixing container. they just appear as i'm painting on the canvas. so i'm wondering: is there a technique i can try or a better tool to mix with or something to help with this issue? i really do like texture in my work, however i prefer opting in to the texture. So far i seem to get the little crumbs on the canvas regardless of what i do. (also, fwiw, i have only tried acrylic mediums thus far.) Please know there is absolutely no hate in my heart, only profound love (possibly bordering on unhealthy CH obsession XD). i'm just wondering if there are any suggestions of things i can do to minimize the little crumbs ending up on the canvas. anyway thanks for reading all of this and thanks for any suggestions.

Do your primary sanding and primer down first and paint it I would then add a protection coat on top. Need to let dry between layers and it should take you about 5 days to complete this project.

I just saw you're video with Tom. I want to buy you're stuff I kinda wish you had a pack that had 1 of everything. BTW are the Potion Paints made with the Paint Powder? I mean If I wanted the colours the powders come in are the potions the same? If so I'd prolly buy the potions instead, well plus the Phaze kit and maybe the glitter as a gift.
I was wondering if that was possible too - I imagine if it’s /safe to do so/, mixing it into a direct dye would be all that’s required (a lot of the direct due brands have a clear offering to mix with other colors to turn them pastel, maybe that...?). The real question is if it’s safe for use on hair.

I am dead curious to know if this powder pigment will work with egg tempera: egg yolk diluted 50/50 with water and a drop or two of alcohol (Vodka or Gin) to act as a preservative. I don't see why this shouldn't work as egg tempera is a water based medium, after all. I must try it.
