I have many retro phones for which I have been posting various videos but in this video I have shown a trick with which you can literally use any old phone without its original charger. @@vidstube using a power bank will not stop you from overvolting a lithium battery. You're putting 5 volts to a battery that's not meant to take any more than 4.2 volts maximum. If it's a battery which doesn't have a protection circuit inside it, this will cause serious problems.

For me, i won't do that because doing what you did might damage the unit, and could also cause the battery to explode (if it is live battery). The capacity of the powerbank and the old phone certainly don't match.

This is horrible and potentially fry the Power IC inside of those phones, it was expecting around 4.2V of power from battery and you are blasting 5V into it, at first it will not damage everything but after prolonged use it will fry the IC. try to find the original or reproduced chargers online. Nokia and Sony Ericsson chargers were plenty and still being manufacturered as a USB cable.
