Great video. Thank you. Can’t you use a fixative over your pan pastel before you start adding colored pencil, to help reduce smudging?

Hello, Yes you can use Fixative however it your pencil won't necessarily blend as much as you would like.

If you did hit the limit of material the paper can hold, can you use a fixative and then a layer of clear gesso to keep going? I just want to assure that it all stays together with no flaking.

You can seal it with with a clear coat, but my artworks from 3 years ago ia still holding everything and hasn’t lost any power
