What I like about your videos is that you get to the point and explain clearly without adding anything unnecessary. Very organized and professional but presented in a relaxed manner. I wish all instructional videos were like this.

Hey ! I already posted this on the presonus forum but i have a particular feature request for S1. It would be very useful to have a real-time varispeed function which allows you to increase/decrease the speed AND the pitch of the session instantly. We can already do that with the tape mode on each track, but you can't do that on tracks with instruments vst's or melodyne on it. That function is available in logic pro for instance. Thank you !

Well explained (as usual), Gregor. Are you sure those are dB? On Pultecs, and Pultec type plugins, normally those were & are arbitrary markings, in which 10 is a lot different than 10dB, and is also not the same amount of dB for the boost or cut, or for the high and the low band. A good tip for those who need to better understand what those Pultec eq curves look like and how they interact is to either check them out with Plugin Doctor or Waves Q Clone, or simply to put some white noise through the eq and observe what it does on any analyzer placed after the eq. I always felt that getting a good idea of what those curves actually do, how broad they are and what actually happens when you combine them is equally as essential as trusting your ears for this type of eq. BTW do you have any info as to which specific Pultec/from where/from which studio was modelled by these slightly mysterious "State Space" guys, and what method they used? BTW 2 what's that fluorescent mini gas tank kind of drink you have there? Must be the secret juice that makes you so bright and friendly! 😉😉😉👍

Thanks for explaining this, I’ve struggled to understand this thing. The concept of boosting and attenuating at the same time is difficult for me to get my head around.

The values on the PassiveEQ are not dB's .. and the bandwidth only applies to the high boost. But i'm still a fan of your Greg!

Hello Gregor. Will Studio One add Note FX MIDI Routing for third-party (like Scaler 2) virtual instruments? We hope to get rid of two tracks for MIDI Routing plugins.

the low boost and atten are way too sensitive, 1db boost sounds like 6db boost on other pultec simulations. The usable range is really small, hope it can be fixed in future updates.
@officialWWM Жыл бұрын
It doesn’t need to be “fixed”.
@TianpeiWang Жыл бұрын
@@officialWWM it does, it’s way off than the pultec hardware I have and the other plugins.
@officialWWM Жыл бұрын
@@TianpeiWang it doesn’t need to be the same. You need to learn to use it as it is or download a different version 🤷🏻♂️
@TianpeiWang Жыл бұрын
@@officialWWM the point is we all know how to use pultec and how a good plugin should be. Its like if you get a very good car, the break feels too sensitive, as a experienced car driver, you should let manufacture know, only the new drivers won’t know. 2 years ago we had a live session with Gregor talking about the lack of automation function in Project page, now we have it. A good software should based on user experience, this is also how S1 and Reaper get this far today.

it sounds good but not that useful without a output level control,you need to be able to gain match to see if you are helping or harming imho
@PrantoKoX Жыл бұрын
You can't really accurately gain match equalization. Frequency boosts or cuts change perception and phase (which in turn affects perception), not just and not necessarily dB level. There seldom was a level knob on hardware eqs. Also, IMHO gain matching is overrated and a very blown up internet fad - useful at times, yes, but if you know what you're doing and what to listen for, level won't trick you, and you can always hear it & make sane decisions. 🤷🏼♂️😉
