Lastnight I used a heavy ceramic pig on my ruler. My niece made for me about 30 years ago. It worked but was bulky. I like your patterns.

If your material was cut on bias , I think would work better , also using E-6000 glue with or without glue gun 😛❗️

Just to clarify the ruler weight was a little weight from my husbands weight set. A bag of rocks, sand bags, or anything small and heavy would work.
