Cool video, but this isn't POE over Fiber this is DC over wire & fiber. This means running 2 cables now too, maybe they make a siamese LVT & fiber in one now type of cable.

You are right. The Siamese cable helps. With power wires in parallel, you can choose the diameter of the core and adapt to the power loss inline.

DON'T Bite In This Method. There Are Too many hardware conversions, and extra hardware connection bottlenecks to consider this expensive method financially viable. Try pitching this costly network connection to any savvy accountant, compared to a less expensive Cat7A network connection. When the company accountant crunches the numbers and sends the cost analysis results to the CEO, CIO, or Authorizing CFO, This method Will Be Vetoed and the Cat7A connection option will be chosen. Make Note: This Guy didn't show a side-by-side connection Speed Comparison. This Alone Is enough to prove this isn't viable.

You can use Cat7 if the distance is less than 100 meters. That's no problem! Beyond that, a poe extender must be included, or you'll suffer significant signal loss as the distance increases.

Be Fair Conduct a Side by Side Speed Comparisons Of this Costly very Hardware-heavy method to a Cat7A connection method. Come on Show the real Word Test numbers, I'm Daring You.

The point about PoE is to utilise the same data cable to transmit power over to the other side for the equipment. Your demo essentially is to run another power cable from the data source to the other side. The PoE in this case is a localised one in addition of a PoE injector. I understand it is impossible to transmit power through fiber optic cable, unless someone can come out with a fiber cable with a copper pair for power.

You can use composite fiber optic cables (2 fiber strands + 1 power cable) instead, which can transmit power and data simultaneously to the end device. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fHm4qKOIi9CenLc

What equipment are you doing

It's a PoE media converter which can transmit optical signals and power simultaneously to the end device. www.fastcabling.com/product/waterproof-industrial-hardened-grade-fiber-poe-media-converter/

We will try to work one that with STP (L2) redundant network link.
