Question: which steps needs to be done to a full screen of apple car play? I got a shared screen with sport chrono information on the right side! Anyone knows this easy action?
I remember when the 911 first got a cup holder, the world went "F"ing crazy

Connecting Apple CarPlay is one thing, but your Porsche keeping it connected is another issue. CarPlay gives me and my wife fits in her Macan, it will randomly disconnect and good luck ever trying to get it to connect again - you have to stop the car, shut it off and start over. Other then that, awesome car! Seriously, great car, but CarPlay is a nightmare.

Agree, same issue in Panamera 2019. And another thing that is weird: there is no button to move the previous or next song/radio (either on the wheel or on the dashboard), you need to move into the menu (carplay or PCM) to be able to change radio/song…. Crazy… any other brand have it…

Same issue in the Taycan 2021 - It disconnects at least one time every ride.

@@sebfrench You can map one of the buttons on the steering wheel to do that. It's that diamond like shape button.

@@jwzegelaar true, thanks for the suggestion 👍🏻. My only issue is that in Panamera you have only one customizable button which I use for the « lift » option that I like to use pretty often while driving . Seems very surprising to me be be obliged to go to the menu to press « previous » or « next » I would prefer this rather than having the volume on the wheel…

It’s mind boggling to me that a version of apple’s car play has been available on aftermarket systems for over a decade and manufacturers are just now figuring it out? Never made sense to me that I have to spend an additional $1000 aftermarket on top of purchase price to have a proper system when I buying an $80K product.
@raiden723 жыл бұрын
It's not called a Porsche iTaycan. They are two separate entities that need to work together.
@tbz15513 жыл бұрын
@@raiden72 Yes, it's called technical integration and Kenwood and Alpine had it with apple in 2010 lol ...Keep up The only reason why manufacturers didn't have it was because it wasn't a priority for the majority of owners until recently to have full phone integration. I understand in a sub 20k car... never understood it in luxury cars.

@@tbz1551 congratulations. I volunteer you to debug it for us.

@@raiden72 They could just partner with an aftermarket stereo company.
@raiden723 жыл бұрын
@@tbz1551 yes I agree that would be very nice. Their stereo now integrates and operates many functions of the car aside from just nav, radio, etc. So it needs to be proprietary and they need to work hard to apply this deep integration with things changing every year. I am on your side but what about the Amazon Alexa and Google Home integration? There are many ecosystems to satisfy and many people still left out. At least basic Bluetooth works though
