It took about 3 months of use before the purging subsided for me and recently ive been recommended to use Glycolic Acid for exfoliation from the marks i had from purging, but even without the GA (because I ran out due to local lockdowns) the tretinoin alone worked great in minimizing dark marks for me. The Environ brand's retinol step-up system has totally changed my skin. The five progressive tubes of retinol AVST day/night cream and then the Retinol Serums later on when your skin can tolerate it. Absolutely amazing brand. One's skin adapts gradually so there's never a problem. Not cheap but massively recommend these products.

Please, make a video on skincare devices(red light, current tool, nuface, and more), is it worth saving money and buying them for a long term results, or is it not efficient enough and going to aesthetician who uses similar devices would be more effective (better tools) ?

This literally feels like a university lecture! In what age can we start using retinol? Keep it up, lots of love!

Hi not a professional, but I was prescribed Tazaortene when I was 17 for acne and hyperpigmentation. I have been using it for five years now with no problems, and from my research you can safely start retinol use in your teenage years

No, it really doesn’t feel like a university lecture. Kindly spare us the fawning BS.

Wish I’d been more educated when I first started using tret 10 years ago- I was “more is more” type til I saw how much it aged me! Scared the hell out of me, took years to have courage to start again.

It aged you? It can cause wrinkles, you mean? Ai!

If you use too much you’ll get irritated inflamed skin. I saw myself in harsh daylight and noticed lots of crepey skin around my eyes. Just rougher complexion overall. When I tried again about 5 years ago I was sure to go slow and easy. No issues and saw marked improvement after several months.

yeah... I use way more retinol than that. but I don't find mine spreads well enough to use less... Your moisturiser reccomendations are increadible. They've absolutely been, without a doubt, the key to my tolerance and consistent use of retinol.

I'm sorry, I know it's a shallow thing to say, but you are so much more pleasant to look at/watch (AND have a great sense of humour) than some other female derms here x Love your channel x

When Dr Idriss says you shouldn't use retinol on the area around your mouth and I''ve been using epiduo for the last 8 months only on my chin area to beat hormonal acne.. :') My skin only tolerates it 3 times a week and AFTER moisturizer. But so far it's working great :) and I've done 2 rounds of accutane! guess you have to find whatever works for your skin.

My dermatologist who I've known for 40 years has always promoted Retin A. He has said everything you have said EXCEPT use only the Retin A at night and do not use any other products with it, including a moisturizer. I have always used Retin A (Micro cream 0,05 in my case) this way. Your opinion on not combining with other products especially moisturizer? Additionally, the two moisturizers you like are in containers that you must dip your fingers in. Easily to contaminate. Kind regards.

Great video and you look amazing in the red lipstick! Can you please do a video on skincare for 20s, 30s, 40s, etc and on devices like NuFace? I’m wanting to try it but I have concerns about going at my face with electricity on a regular basis and any long term negative effects of that.

When I started retinoid, I would sandwich it. Essentially I'd use a very light moisturizer on a damp face, let it dry completely, then my prescription retinoid followed by a heavy moisturizer. Then I began to put it on directly and never had an issue. Highly recommend it if you're sensitive.

This is so helpful. I have dry, very sensitive, rosacea prone skin (and nut allergies) and the esthetician at my dermatologist office told me to start with a .05% RX retinol, plus bleaching pads (for my melasma), plus a vitamin c serum and a biopeptide cream. No way I'm trying all those new things at once lol.

Thanks Dr Idriss. I've just bought a lot of your recommended products. I'm going to start with the A313 cream in the "sandwich" method, but the pharmacist recommended me to start after the summer and not to use it in the summer months?🤔. You've never mentioned to stop retinol over the summer months so i'm going to follow all your YOUR instructions. I feel more confident and brave starting this journey under your supervision. Thanks ever so much for all this wonderful information. You are an amazing Dr.
