So if something says it has "RFID detection, enabling the recognition of RFID cards and tags operating at 13.56MHz" they really are just adding tech talk to say that it has NFC? The phrase in quotes is copied from the product's pecifications page.

Hey, it depends on the product... To use the NFC name and logo, a product must comply with NFC Forum standards and typically be certified by the NFC Forum. Simply operating at the 13.56 MHz frequency is not sufficient for a product to be marketed as NFC without adhering to these additional requirements.
