Somebody left a brand new Singer Prelude next to our community recycling area. Had no idea what I was doing so thanks for the tutorial. Used it to fix my wife's work apron. Took an hour but figured it out thanks to your video. Now I don't have to sew by hand anymore. Can't believe they threw out a brand new machine because there is nothing wrong with it, not even a scratch.

Hello, I bought this sewing machine as used but it was checked over and oiled etc by the shop owner. That was only 5 months ago. I am making a thick blanket out of old sweaters. I had no problem with the first two blankets, but now I am making a third blanket (for myself) and the thread underneath is knotting and I already broke two needles. The hand wheel seems to be a bit tight too. The needles were new. I am using ballpoint needles for this project. Do you think I should adjust the tension? Why is the thread knotting underneath? Just wondering if you could suggest something.

It doesn't make any difference. You can leave up or down while threading your machine.

I have a Singer Prelude sewing machine but just recently the needle is hitting the rotating device inside of the bobbin, Bobbin holder perhaps? How can I adjust the timing of the needle insertion into the bobbin or is it possible something has bent inside?

I would advice you to check if the needle is inserted correctly and also check the bobbin and the holder to check if its inserted correctly .

I had it set up correctly and still the same problem this morning. I have returned it to the retailer this afternoon because it's under guarantee, I only bought it a few months back. But according to reviews on the internet the prelude has a reputation for jamming.

It's the singer 8280 it just keeps snapping all the time

1. Check if the upper thread is set too tight and if it is set too tight, try to 2. Set the tension to best thread setting or less. 3.Also make sure the thread spool is installed correctly and use the correct size of spool cap. 4. Check the bobbin, make sure it is wounded up to 80% full and it's evenly wounded. 5. Try to retrade your thread. You can also Watch my video on: HOW TO SOLVE SEWING MACHINE TENSION PROBLEM. I hope this ideas will help you to fix the problem .

Check if you are using the correct upper thread. Secondly, try to rethread the upper thread again . Also, check if your bobbin is threaded and inserted properly .

@@sewbymejuliana Thats at least what it sounded like to me. I hear loud cherps throughout the video. I rewatched a few minutes and it's every 29/30 seconds. I first thought It was at my house. If you have smoke alarms/detectors where you made this video, check for a blinking red light on the detector. If it's red , it needs placing. If it no longer makes noise , then it probably is dead completely.
