Thank you for this, displaying a piece makes the difference between artist and hobbyist.

I love your videos, Lisa! These are all wonderful ideas but I especially like the wavy mold. I have a Skutt firebox 14 and I'm wondering if you know where I can purchase a small wavy mold similar to your large one.

You said you glued the bases to the glass art but then how do you hang it on the wall ?
@LisaVogtglassartist Жыл бұрын
If it is a piece I want to hang on the wall I'll use E6000 glue and a saw tooth hanger. Simply glue the sides of the hanger onto the glass where you want it and let it dry.

I’m always searching for ways to use glass to display glass. These are all great ideas! What is the wavy mold made of? Thank you so much for sharing 😊
@LisaVogtglassartist Жыл бұрын
The wavy mold is made of stainless steel, I've had it for years!

After you adhere the wave to your art...for mounting on the wall...I still don't understand what you use to hang the piece?

I added a saw tooth hanger to the back with E6000 glue :)

Thanks , I truly appreciate your suggestions, as the presentation of glass, whether standing or hung is an issue. Do you use epoxy glue? Silicon?
@LisaVogtglassartist Жыл бұрын
I use E6000 glue, it works great and is clear so its unnoticeable. :)

Hi Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I wondered if you could answer a quick question. What glue do you use to fix the two together as there must be quite a strain on the pieces on the wall? Appreciate your advise. Thanks Suzanne

Lisa, how do you cut the fiberboard that you slumped the base over? Does a regular hack or hand saw do it? (I am reluctant to get a power saw. Not enough room.)
@LisaVogtglassartist3 ай бұрын
I used a single edge razor blade or sheet rock knife/carpet knife :)

Do you have to fire the steel roofing material before you use it?
@LisaVogtglassartist Жыл бұрын
yes, to burn off the oil and season it so the primer sticks better.
@susandees474 Жыл бұрын
@@LisaVogtglassartist... at what temperature and for how long? MIne has rust on it. Do I have to sand that off first? or will it burn off in the kiln
@LisaVogtglassartist Жыл бұрын
@@susandees474 With rust it's best to sand it off first so it doesn't stick to or ruin your glass and for seasoning a steel mold you bring it up to 1365F :)
