When off loading it's quite simple, Reverse the skates get the rear wheels off the bed, Run the bed all the way forward till it either maxes out or the front wheels are just barely on the bed, and then throw a chain as far forward on the vehicle as you can to the rear pocket, run the bed back and that chain will tighten and then start pushing the skates and vehicle all the way back, from there unhook the chain and you can pretty much jolt the bed forward a few times and it will come out.
@MNDashcam3 жыл бұрын
Especially if you have no room to move forward in a very tight parking situation you can run a snatch block to your edge of the bed and the winch back up to the truck and literally use the winch to pull it down off the bed. It's safe quick and easy. anything you can do to remain in the most control of the vehicle in the truck and you're surroundings is best.
@PremiumFuelOnly3 жыл бұрын
I think thats the best way to do it, plus Miller Mfg. says that sliding weight on the bed without the stabilizer foot on the ground wears out the bed slider pads in the front faster.

Very informative. However, you don't really need to hop back in you tow truck and drive forward. If you truck has a wheel lift. You can do a technique called "walking the Truck." You basically use your wheel lift to pick up the rear tires of you tow truck and that use it to push the truck forward. Saves you a lot of time and keeps you from have to walk back and forth a lot.
@donaldchastain68473 жыл бұрын
You can do that really easy but most rookies can't Plusle scratch the hell out of somebody's driveway doing it that way
@AgileCoast3 жыл бұрын
@@donaldchastain6847 ItsIt's do able without scratch up driveways. Just have to pay attention and take is slow. Most guys get in a hurry and try to rush through it. But I mostly tow for IAA and CoPart. So it comes in handy with wrecked vehicles.

Hello my friend. I would like to make a request. Would you please make a video on chaining a vehicle to the wheel lift without using the "L" arms because it has been wrecked or something and has no front axles or "A" frame. I would make one myself because this is a common occurrence for me hauling for CoPart with every vehicle being a total but I have not got a KZbin channel with thousands of subs and it would help lots of guys and gals out greatly if they knew how to do it.

Misleading title. Basically showed a technique for a 2wd truck or car. And at 3:15 there is no reason to get in the truck. Just keep the skates under the wheels and use the bed to push on the rear wheels which will move the truck back. Hate to see rookie mistakes like this but people can get hurt and equipment or cars can get damaged when moving the truck while working. ALWAYS try to keep the truck stationary. The driver's door should only have to be opened twice. Once to start the recovery and the second is to leave the job site. Happy towing and recoveries to all!

but which one is easier and safer? indeed this one
@66towing995 жыл бұрын
First off, He said 4 by 4 and not All wheel drive and the Dodge is a 4x4 on demand, so he is not misleading. Secondly, when the rear wheels on the casualty vehicle are locked, your options for dropping it off are limited , and the way he did it while it is hard on the frame of the truck, it is the most common way. Thirdly, I suggest that you make a video showing your creative methods of dealing with a situation like this if you think you can do better.
@codypendry57435 жыл бұрын
Theres always a chance the vehicle can free roll. Dont know if park will hold or the rear end. I'd keep my winch hooked and walk the truck out from under it.
@jonathanhadfield81254 жыл бұрын
I agree! The truck should not be driven out from underneath. There is a much safer and more secure way to do it. I like his techniques in his videos, but disapprove this video.

also. last night i had a fwd. no key. i had to load it up backwards on. getting it off was a pain. came off easy using your. technique. it was when the front wheels came off the bed that the pain started. the back wheels just rolled with the bed. while the front stayed in park not rolling. what could i have done? i had to use fork lift to get it off.
@donaldchastain68475 жыл бұрын
When you load them on backward they are a pain to get off couple ways to do it is roll the bad back and then put on the emergency brake and and Scoot the bed backwards the other way the other way to do it the same principles is to block the back tires so when you're putting your bed down the tires don't roll backwards it just pushes against the fronts to skates
