In case you're confused about the "@" mentions: At 6:35 in the video Liam mentioned that in the upper right corner of Slack there's an "@" icon - which there is! - but the video zoomed in and drew a circle around the upper LEFT where there is no "@" icon.

Is there any way to mark my account "I am in focus mode" for a while, so anyone wanna disturb, slack will notify him .. this guy in focus mode now.. if you have really something urgent I will send a notification to him.. else will notify later. ..BTW: Thanks for the brilliant tips

What would be the fastest way to post a response to a post (under a thread)? Asking because I've been posting much too slowly for a "first come first serve" volunteer job. Selecting "reply" or the "reply to" button is much too slow.

Thanks for the video. What do you find more productive: setting up a lot of channels each devoted to a specific question OR having fewer channels but with greater number of messages in each of them?

Once I look at a channel it disappears and that seemed to really boost my productivity as I'd just scroll through channels and it was honestly a waste of time. You can set that up in the settings

@2:03 that's a different keyword than what the subsequent message shows: @liam emergency vs liamemergency - so you'd still get the notification because it's a @mention 6:46 you describe one thing but show the other

If you go to Preferences > Sidebar Settings, look for Appearance to set what is visible in your sidebar. Choose "Unreads only."
