Many years ago I produced many magazine illustrations and advertising ill'o's etc to speed up I discovered Knockout Corel Painter....brillliant loved it, then photoshop and Adobe ...Brilliant, .loved 'em all and more..still do. BUT when Im busy working and I need an answer from Corel there answer was unknown, because I was told my problem would be sorted shortly. LEARN my learn will be LATER.....Where as ancient/experienced I didn't know I'd still have to be waisting experience. Learn and Know AHEAD.............Enjoy XX

Do any experienced Painter users know how to switch your colours back to the default of black and white? In Photoshop you just press the "D" key and it switches right back to Black and White. Really useful for working on masks but I can't find how to do this in Painter at all. Much thanks for any help.

I think the fastest would to have a large "chip" or "swatch" of pure white and pure black on a top layer near to the portion of your piece that you're working on. Then hold down the alt key and click on the color you desire. This will quickly "sample" and load the color that you clicked on. If you are working a mask, there should also be large patches of white and black nearby. Not sure, but you might also have to press b to go back to "brush" after the sampling.

Maybe painting black on grey, and grey on grey, is not the best way to show the brushes.
