Hi, the OPV is left at factory setting. When running a shot with the the blind filter in, at factory settings it should show within 8-11bars which is the optimal pressure.

You said you would adjust the pressure with some coffees. Is that done by adjusting grind / dose / tamp pressure or is there some adjustment on the machine itself?

We would suggest you to start with testing the pressure with a blind filter. Your machine should read between 8-11 bars of pressure. If it is not within the 8-11 bars, Please adjust your OPV (on the left of the group head). If your machine is reading 8-11 bars of pressure when testing with the blind filter, it should read the same when you are extracting an espresso shot. If it isn’t reading within the optimal 8-11 bars, please adjusting your grind, dose and tamp. This might take a few tries to get to your preferred bar pressure. Please note that different types of coffee bean roasts will change your grind and bar pressure, so please adjust and weigh your grinds accordingly.

Hello Daren I am using the dream pid machine too. Do you know why my machine stop automatically making coffee when the pid screen show only 20 ? From your video ,when you make a double shot, your machine stopped at around 28 (at 3:45). At first I thought it is related to the Preinfusion, but it doesn’t help. Thank you so much!

Hello, The reason why your machine shot stops at 20 is because that is what your coffee dose is set to. To set your coffee dose, you need to hold the switch and let it run to your desired shot dosage and let go. (hold up to set your 1 coffee and hold down to set your 2 coffee). Give that a try and let us know if you have any other questions. SBS

Wow. For just a couple hundred $$ more, you can get a Duo. The Dream is a beautiful machine, but overpriced for what it is by comparison.

Apart from $300+ more, Duo also requires a 20 amp outlet in your kitchen and more space. All for the benefit of being able to steam whilst making a shot.
