Yes only still images in the atem. Videos needed to be played via software or through hdmi input from a player or computer

Our church is very small and we only have a laptop and a Canon Vixia camera with hdmi out only. We were thinking about buying a Magewell XI100DUSB One Channel HDMI Gen 2 USB 3.0 Capture Dongle to connect our camera hdmi to the laptop usb 2.0 port so we could live stream on KZbin. With the ATEM Mini, will we need the converter or does the ATEM Mini do the conversion as well as mix? We want to stream with Video and simultaneous show PowerPoint slides. No need right now for a second camera. Only audio would be the Pastor.

AJaytheCEO you can test it yourself. Audio via the camera is insync. Audio via the external port on the mini is out of sync

vMix has way better UI than OBS, and you can see thumbnail of every camera and overlay, cannot see those in OBS. I am actually not sure why you need either with vMix, just have camera inputs via powered POE switch and capture card, then just switch in vMix and not have to have another hand on the ATEM.

Hi, thanks for the videos. They are very helpful. I am trying to use ATEM Mini with vMix for our church. The video keeps freezing in between (it's not smooth). But, when I use it with OBS, it's smooth. Not sure why this is so. Any ideas?

Check under settings to see if you have hardware gpu acceleration on. Honestly vmix is more taxing than OBS

Hello AJay, I must say this was refreshing. Thank you for being understandable and easy to follow. I moved from OBS after 9 months to vMix w/Elgato Stream Box . Our subscription is up on June 22, 2020, just a week or two from now. I want to continue using at minimum cost with the ATEM-MP (AMP). The only thing I don’t was to give up is the ability to add a call in guest. So question ... can I make it with vMix Basic and still have “Overlay’s” with AMP? If so how many? Also, can I add a guest caller to my production with AMP without the help of vMix ($350.00 subscription)?
