What is the easiest way to hook the elastic onto the beadalon needle tool? I have a hard time doing that
@beadaholique Жыл бұрын
It helps if you try to hold it taut between two fingers and then slide the down the end of the needle until it catches in the little loop. If it's loose as you hold it, it has a harder time catching. I hope this helps.

The best way is to measure using calipers. We sell digital calipers that are accurate up to 1/10 of a millimeter, available here: www.beadaholique.com/beadsmith-digital-caliper-measures-inner-outer-diameters-in-inches-millimeters.html Thanks so much!

What are the pros & cons of opalon vs stretch cord?
@beadaholique6 жыл бұрын
It’s really a personal preference when it comes to choosing between opelon and a different variety of stretch cord (there are multiple types of other stretch cords such as stretch magic, etc. and opelon is a stretch cord too). As a designer, I like opelon in that it’s easiest for me to knot and to make tight knots with. That is the main reason I prefer it. I also find that it wears really well. Another designer might tell you they prefer Stretch Magic for the same reasons and that is totally valid too. It does come down to working with several different varieties and really finding which one you personally prefer. I hope this helps in some way.

I'm surprised that you did not stretch that elastic at least 10 times before you did all that. I would think that will make people think there's no need to do that and there is. That elastic no matter whether it's yours or another brand, is most likely going to stretch out because you did not stretch it previously.
@beadaholique3 жыл бұрын
Our experience with Opelon is that it doesn't need pre-stretching. It certainly won't hurt anything, but we haven't found it to be necessary. That's just our experience from making bracelets with it. And no, we don't make Opelon. We're an independent bead and jewelry supply store, meaning we sell everything that we feature in our videos but we don't accept any sort of payment to advertise or promote products. We choose the materials that we think are right for the project we're teaching.

Quite disappointing, I loved this video & bought the needle and tucked both away until I had time to sit down and give this a go, using the needle and a pack of size 6/0 variety pack of Czech seed beads both bought from you, only to find that out of the 7 different styles of bead only 2 will fit on the needle. Yes I can use a big eye needle with no hassle except I’ll have to sort the bead positions out, then resort them to put them on the cord. Pretty disappointed and I’d think Beadalon would take take this kind of issue into consideration I also had some other 6mm & even 8mm which have holes too small to fit on the needle, making it pretty much a cute gimmick rather than a useful tool. All Beadalon need to do is make the needle thin enough to work with varied hole sizes. Btw this isn’t against BHQ but at Beadalon. 😐

The title says Beadalon, but your product says Beadsmith. I think out of respect for us you should rename your video to reflect the real product name.
