Thank you Smith College for sharing this valuable tutorial to the public, of which I am a member therof. I prudently overlook the spelling as I am in cinematography and not an English major. It is an excellently done video but the black of the g70 and the non-contrast lighting makes it hard to see some of the places on the camcorder body, but for the most part it is acceptable. So I say, thanks again for sharing.

Hey! Does Smith College know you're doing this?! 😅 Great guide! These are hard to find and Canon's manual was useless.

Does the camera have a built-in microphone?

This camera, has been such a nightmare. The Autofocus hunts nonstop, to the point I can only use it manual focus, which is a real drag, when I just want to sit in front of it, and show an item. It will slowly go out and into, focus, over and over and over and over, no matter what. Even re-lighting and re-painting, my entire studio space, didn't help. I have to constantly wait for focus, monitor and external screen to time, the "in focus" moments, and, re-shoot scenes, over and over and over. Sometime I miss it, till I see it during Edit, and have to go back to shoot again... Any idea how to resolve this?

I understand it's frustrating, but in the manual, they've mentioned that the AF works better at 50/60 fps, also I've noticed that the AF is reliable in good lightning conditions over the dimly light areas. For casual use, it's good enough but not for professional work.

Good info. Only disagree on resolution, storage is cheap nowadays so I always record everything in 4k
