Thomas has the most expressive eyebrows ever. I find myself completely enthralled by them. Is this some kind of hypnosis trick to get us into the hobby and make us believe we are half decent at aquascaping?! Hmmmm....I’m onto you Thomas! 😂😂 Great series, loving it so far. Can’t wait to see it all grown in!

@Big Al's, you should try the dry method starter that includes a water bottle. Basically, cling wrap the tank. Air tube into the tank. Then other end into a bottle full of water. This one, above the water. Then another airtube in the wate.r This tube goes to the air pump. Then one opening somewhere in the cling lap. Allowing air circulation for the plants and potentially reducing the need to misting.

Loving the videos! So helpful!! I do have a question though, I'm planning a low tech tank which I'm starting after I move house, if I'm doing a dry start method with staurogyne repens, would you keep trimming the height as it grows to encourage it to spread across the substrate or just leave it to grow upwards? Also if I trim the tops, can they be replanted in the substrate and left to root themselves or will they not root? Thanks!

I tried the dry start method after watching all your inspiring videos, and into my 2nd week after watching couple of other videos got into painting java moss (yoghurt method) on driftwood. Now I have white mould starting to show up in my driftwood alone. While it might be harmless, it's killing the looks. Please suggest a way to get rid of it?

I learned the hard way that java moss can’t be used in the dry start method. That being said I got an amazing dwarf hairgrass carpet using this method.

Hi there I am moving next month on the 17th I am wondering what's the best way to move the fish and the aquarium from my existing place to my new place
@ChrisSmith-hi5ew
@ChrisSmith-hi5ew 5 жыл бұрын
You would need buckets to move your existing tank water. If I were you, I would get a power supply (like a UPS) for the filter and heater in one of those bucket for your fish, substrate and your beneficial bacteria. That also means you would need to drive slow. But it’s worth it. Hope this helps.

Guys i have a question, is snails bad for aquarium because i never bought any snail and somehow they're in my tank
@redheathan1386
@redheathan1386 5 жыл бұрын
You can get snails from plants you buy if the seller has them in their tanks already and if they grow their plants out side too, if you’ve gotten them after buying new plants that’s probably how they got there. As far as them being bad...... not really, but they could bread and spread and you would see more of them in the tank. Some people buy snails on purpose as tank cleaners but they clean at snail speed;) . If you don’t like them, there are fish you could buy that will get rid of them or you could pick them out as you see them.

If you are going the fish predator approach, get some loach like botia sidthimunki. Don't get pea puffers unless you can keep them fed with live or frozen food when the snail is gone.
