I wish I found this info like 6 months ago 😂 thanks dude. I found myself in the niche that wants great 24 bit audio, but also wanted a top handle/monitor setup

Additional note: You can also check with your local Sony service centre to see if they still carry the MIS extension cable as a replacement part. I checked with mine and unfortunately they do not carry it anymore, apparently it's discontinued according to them.

i've tried to use the adapter to move the hotshoe out of the way on my zv-e1, but it doesn't register any sound whether i toggle digital or analog. any tips?

hey there, the adapter should detect your mic automatically as it's just an extension cable. does the mic work without the adapter extension cable?

@@SunnyIslandAlvin yeah. the way i test it is that i softly scratch the mic when plugged directly into the hotshoe (where i see the feedback of sound on the screen) vs when i plug in the extension and scatch it and see no visual of audio on the screen.

that's strange, it should work automatically just like it would be when plugged directly into the hotshoe. might wanna check again if the extension cable is plugged tight and properly into the hotshoe again, and if all else fails, probably get the cable checked/replaced.

@@SunnyIslandAlvin yeah i've tried multiple times. got it on ebay and it was brand new. messaged the guy but he said to check my audio settings which i did but didn't change the outcome.

sorry to hear that mate, i checked and the zx-e1 is a compatible body as well, not sure what else could go wrong barring the cable itself. i guess the final way to check the cable would be to test the extension cable on another camera body and see if the same issue persists. if so, then it's probably the cable that's faulty.
