Today we're going to show you How to Use the EcoFlow Delta 1300 Power Station to Power a Refrigerator. Using a power station like this proved to be a very simple task. We had never used a solar generator before and this portable power station has totally amazed us with its capabilities.
Charging a refrigerator with Delta 1300 Power Station is easy to do. Anyone can do it if we can!

We lost power during Ian but only for part of a day. We hooked up both refrigerators to our Ecoflow units -- we now have a River also -- and they performed beautifully!! We were going to hook them up to the solar panels but then the power came back on.

Just a tip. I noticed that you kept pushing the "DC" on/off button when the screen display turned off. Don't do that. Press the power on/off button below the "DC" button to turn the display screen on. Turning on the "DC" function needlessly will cause a small drain on the battery. The same would be true if you kept pressing the "AC" button without anything connected to it.

great product for emergency. just tested mine out and surprised by results. ran my Samsung french door with freezer for 36hrs on one full charge without solar connected.. cycled 55-75 watts every few hours and steady at 0-11 watts when opened doors or lights. bought this on a great deal... was well worth the investment for emergency usage..... even powered on my 1500 watt induction cooker and 1200 watt microwave with ease.. 👍👍

Thank you for your test. I had looked at this unit but was concerned about running a larger refrigerator with it. The company shows a smaller 2-door fridge. I have a similar French door refrigerator (Sears Elite but is made by LG) to yours. We do have some power outages, plus, have had hurricanes. Hated to lose the food in my fridge during a hurricane. This will be a life-saver!

I bought this unit a week ago, along with 2 sets of solar panels. Very impressed with it so far. We've only run a portable fridge/freezer on it and it works very well. Haven't used the solar panels yet, haven't had much sun. But we're looking forward to trying that out and see how it works. We are now thinking of getting another unit, either like this one or going to the bigger one, the Delta Max Pro, and maybe even get two pair of solar panels with that one.

Hi, I truly appreciate your help in the refrigerator testing. I also have the 1300 and I have a question about the plugs. I see your fridge had a three prong plug, and it look like you used the hole as well. Because I thought it needed adapter cuz it didn't look like it would fit. I thought it was a international hosi- dingy? So I'm thinking that pole isn't grounded or touching the way it's supposed to. So when you switched to charging outside by solar panels, did you use a extension cord? And what is wattage of your panels? I brought the bundle and chose the 160 watts with mine. I've been looking all this time for a 2 to 3 prong extension cord for length and heavy duty 14awg, 15amp, 125 v, capacity cord. So you guys made it so simple, I think I over thought this thing too much. What say you? Help me my brother and sister, God Bless y'all 🙏💯💖

Hi there! We plugged the fridge right into the power unit -- no adapter needed. Our test was to find out if the power unit would actually power up the fridge and it did. We were pleased with that! Yes, we used a heavy duty extension cord to plug the fridge into the solar panels -- the cord was a separate purchase. I think we have a total of 200 watts on the panels. We were very impressed with how this little power unit worked and recently we purchased a EcoFlow River power unit. It's a little smaller unit but works great!

@DebsWay
@DebsWay 3 жыл бұрын
If we were to lose power, we would still have water in that case, just not hot water out of the tap. Matter of fact, every time we have a hurricane closing in on us, we fill both bathtubs with water. That would be used to heat up and wash in, flush toilets, things like that. I've never had to use that but you just never know. I asked William if we could hook up the water heater to the power unit and he said that we probably could but it would just be easier to heat up the water on our induction burner when we needed hot water. Sounds good to me! I tell you, this little power unit is so user-friendly! I have no trouble with it whatsoever!!

Hi Debbie! We have been very impressed with the capabilities of this little power unit AND how easy it is for us ( for me!) to work. William got his COVID vaccination through the VA, too. He has now had both injections and felt nothing from either. I contacted our county's health department; they're giving the vaccinations these days. It hasn't rolled out anywhere else just yet but I've heard that it should be coming to local drug stores even before it's available in doctor's offices. I get my 2nd injection next Monday. So far, so good! Lately, we've been having some very cold temps for here and we haven't strayed too far from home. When I lived up North, it was blizzards and heavy snowfalls that kept me indoors; nowadays, it's just colder temperatures. Times change, eh?? LOLOLOL... Take care!!

Watched your video the other and I don't believe you said how the the Delta actually powered your refrigerator. Am anxious to know how many hours it can power your fridge before needing to be recharged. Also, very important - I hear the Delta cooling fans run all the time snd are quite noisy. I know they would be on full speed during charging but running a refrigerator like yours what was the sound like? Don't want to live with high noise. Thanks Alo!
@DebsWay
@DebsWay 2 жыл бұрын
There was no fan noise that we could hear at all. This was a test we did to just see if it would really power up the fridge and it worked. We let it stay hooked up for just an hour or so to see if it would keep cooling and everything was fine. If you're planning to use something like this for days on end, I would definitely get the solar panels with it. We bought this mainly to have something on hand as a back-up to power up a few things around the house when we lose power during hurricane season. It's quite a powerhouse!

We looked around for quite a while before settling on this little power supply unit. There are many models out there but we wanted something that would be powerful enough to keep our fridge going in case of power outage during hurricane season. And this proved that it would do just that. I don't know how it would work on a more permanent basis. Maybe just the same. Actually, I would consider having a solar power system installed on the house roof if I wanted to power something all the time. Eventually, that's what I would like to have here.

@@DebsWay yes that would be nice, wouldn’t it, to go completely solar. That’s the big goal but for now I’m the same, just using these during power outages but with the last few years, we have been blasted with outages following heavy storms and our gas generator is a nice backup but I’d love one of these to use inside to power my fridge and window ac unit!
@DebsWay

Totally understand. When we lose power it tends to be only for a day at the most (so far) and it's during the hurricane season here in FL so we wanted a power unit to plug a few important things in -- like the fridge and a fan. For the rest, we have batteries on hand, candles, etc. And we can use the car battery to charge cell phones and things like that. There's so much to consider but you just have to do your best to prep.

Hi Wendy! We are amazed by the capacity of this little power unit!! It works GREAT! We had been shopping around for something like this when, during the holidays, one of the home network channels had a special sale on it. William watched all the demonstrations of it, liked what he saw and heard, and he jumped on it. At first, he didn't order the solar panels but before our unit arrived, he did go back and order the bank of panels that was demoed with this system. Now he's talking about ordering even more panels! Actually, what I think would be ideal is to have solar panels on the roof that would give enough power to run the whole house!! Maybe some day...

I"m guessing the point of the question about how long will it power the fridge has to do with some of us, just wish to keep our food cold during a power outage. So I'm curious, HOW long will it keep the fridge powered JUST on a charge and without the use of a solar panel?
@DebsWay
@DebsWay 4 ай бұрын
Our purpose in this video was just to make sure that this power unit would be able to run our fridge if needed, and it did do that. Here in Florida we do get power outages especially during hurricane season. We haven't had to plug the fridge in for any length of time but we wouldn't keep it plugged in to the power unit all the time. It's a big fridge/freezer; it would drain the unit in just a few hours. If you want something to power more long-term, I would look at solar or a generator. My husband didn't want to look at a gas generator because he didn't want to store gasoline in the garage.

When you add some wattage to your solar, you will be amazed that your can fun your Refrig on the Battery 24/7. Great to know you can save your food if the power goes out for more than 3 days. Even when my power has gone out for 3 days...I have never lost food. I just move the milk in the Freezer AND move food from the Freezer to the "Cool Area" that I will be cooking in a day or two. -Milk stays Cool -The Frozen food/ICE in the "Cool Area" keeps everything else cool...JUST Like the old "ICE Box" Days.

Can the solar panel be charge on it own and then connect the panel to the generator to charge the fridge? At the moment I don’t think I have a long outlet cord to have both going at the same time
@DebsWay
@DebsWay 3 жыл бұрын
My understanding is that the solar panels aren't what holds the power. The power unit holds the power; the power unit keeps the fridge going. The solar panels will keep the power unit charged up when you don't plug in to electricity. More than one long outlet cord is needed for sure.

Deb's Way . What length outlet cord were using ? I see how to connect the fridge to the unit and how to connect the panel to the unit I have an extension cord now but it does not Connect to the fridge cord. The fridge is 3 prongs. Are you using a 3 prong outlet and connecting that to the your fridge cord? Assuming your fridge cord is 3 prong as well. From what I see that is the only way for me to to be able to move the unit closer to the balcony with the panel. Sorry not a very technical person with these things. I see there is a black cord that connect to the unit but I don’t know the purpose for that because it can’t connect to the fridge outlet. From what I see you have to connect the unit directly to fridge cord.

@@DebsWay Thanks for Replying. The thing about refrigerators and freezers. They don't take that much watts to power once they are cold or freezing. If you lost power for lets say 12 hours before you plugged in the solar power bank than it would take more watts to work the compressor to make the fridge cold and the freezer frozen. Our Keurig coffee makers takes a lot of watts to heat the water and make us a perfect cup of coffee in under a minute. My Ecoflow River Max was able to power on the coffee maker but was not able to make a cup of coffee. It does work great for my fridge and Chest Freezer. Microwave and coffeemaker no go.
@DebsWay
@DebsWay 2 жыл бұрын
I don't know what to tell you. Maybe it has to do with the size of power unit you have? Sounds strange to me that your power unit would work with your larger appliances but not with the smaller ones like a coffee-maker. I don't understand that at all. Our power unit worked with everything we plugged in to it. We are very impressed with the capabilities. We are also looking at buying another unit. If we lost power for several hours, we would be plugging the fridge in right away for sure.
@jcberb
@jcberb 2 жыл бұрын
@@DebsWay it has to do the capacity of the inverter. A fridge is not a high draw item where a coffee maker may have a higher draw to supply the heating element. That's where it is important to know the details to these units. In the case a coffee maker can run anywhere over 700 watts while a fridge will be less than 500 or a bit more. So the River Max tops out at 600 watts for its inverter. While the Delta 1300 has an inverter that can handle well over that.
@jcberb
@jcberb 2 жыл бұрын
@@robertquail1428 inverter in that unit (what converts DC to AC) is limited to 600 watts or so. That is not enough to heat the element in the coffee machine. The River Max is on the go portable power and not for emergency residential power. If you need to power mobile devices, no problem, run occasional items under 600 watts for short periods, no problem. In this case the river max is not suited for your needs.
