I’m just learning how to use this but am amazed at how easy the bugle is to pick up… However, I’ll second or third the notion to not over think it… I was trying to use it and was struggling to just get a decent bugle. I let my 2 kiddos use it (8 & 9) and they started getting the bugle sound after a couple of tries. They were able to get a heard of elk to even bugle back. Which I was stoked for them but made me wonder why they got it so quickly… eventually I realized I was trying too hard (lips curled tight, too much pressure, etc). I’m excited to practice some of these other calls with this… Though I may bring one of my kiddos along as my caller for hunting season since they seem to be picking this up faster than me! 🤣

Got mine a week ago from the Meateater store (plug). Had trouble getting it to work. I over thought it. Eventually I just put my lower lip on or slightly off the hole and gave a slight blow. It worked! Two days ago hunting up here in North Idaho I was able to get return bugle with a perfect chuckle. (Not another hunter). Unfortunately he was down deep in a river bottom. He wouldn't come up.

So your lip has to touch the latex? Trying to figure out my unleashed v2.

Start out making a growling noise, allowing your bottom lip to just barely touch the latex. Once you get the latex to buzz with your voice growl, apply pressure little by little and increase your air volume a little ti climb the staircase of notes.

Haha dang it! Takes some practice….. Sounds like your lip pressure must be off. Start by growling with loose lips, allowing your lower lip to barely touch the latex of the reed. Once you attain the low note, simply tighten your lips and add more air pressure to climb the staircase of notes. Note- If your mouth is too tight it will be chirpy. Too loose, and you won’t climb the stair case of notes. PS- experiment with lip placement on the latex until you find the sweet spot👍🏻
