I'm going for a two pass shave today using a Rockwell 6C or 6S with a feather blade and one of the best safety razors out there. The Rockwell 6c with R6 plate is the most aggressive plate with this adjustable safety razor. Shave on and Let's put it to the Test.

I've been using a DE razor for 15 years and I never did more than one quick pass just to get er done and get on with my day. Now I still favor one pass but I'll spend more time going back over the same spots and it comes out pretty tight. I'm going for respectable and I find a minimal lather with a good soap does a beauty job. I only get a minute or 2 into your video and then I take to typing, Thanks for putting on the questions.

I'm still learning not sure I'm confident with just one pass. I'm not that good yet. Good to hear from you!

Im 17 and middle eastern, so I get a 5 o’clock shadow the moment I finish shaving (unless I shave BBS). So I always go for a BBS shave with the King C Gillette and Feather Blades so I can actually look my age as opposed to a 30 year old man 😂. Maybe I’ll go for a less close shave once I get older.

It's interesting to see how quickly you've gravitated toward more aggressive shaves. I did the same thing. I prefer to feel the blade and know that it's cutting. I'm pretty sure that's how I've come to enjoy single edge razors so much. They tend to have a good amount of blade feel. Thanks for the video!

BBS only lasts for a few hours. By the end of the workday the stubble is back and scraping when I rub my fave ATG. It's pretty nice to not feel any hair though. I do WTG XTG, ATG on my face and only WTH and XTG on my neck because it gets irritated way too easily.

I normally shave with and across the grain and call it a day. The two most used razors are a gamechanger .58 or a Rockwell 6S with plate #4, either paired with Personna platinum blade.
@OhioShaves
@OhioShaves 2 жыл бұрын
I did not know that the game changer was rated that high. Personna platinum blades? I probably need to purchase some of those.

I use a 6C with plate #4 too. ANd now also the Razorock German 37 slant. Very effective shaver for me.

I haven’t tried any of the slant razors yet. Do you use a mild or aggressive blade?
@Dan_00
@Dan_00 2 жыл бұрын
I go for BBS in maybe one of every five shaves and when I do, it’s usually a medium razor and a medium blade. I’ll pull a feather out in a mild razor when I do a quick shave to get out of the house so I give you credit using it with a 6 plate. I’m not sure I’d try that. 😁 The lather is looking better. I didn’t realize how much water Stirling could take until a dropped my brush in the sink before the third pass. I thought it was ruined. Not only was it not ruined but I was arguably the best third pass I ever had. Since then, I push water hard. It’s really hard to over hydrate on a face lather. I have done it in a bowl lather before when I was learning and over pushed it. Luckily soap is cheap per shave and I just started over.

I shave EOD & go for BBS within reason. I can shave ED but have to be super careful or I will get irritated. I’d rather go EOD & get a BBS shave that lasts longer & no irritation cause I skipped a day. Your trick of not going cross the grain on my neck was a big help for me. Even my wife said my skin has never looked this good & shaves this close since switched to DE. This Nivea after shave balm is my favorite. Readily available, great price & everytime my wife smells me after a shave she moans & comments how she loves the smell it has. Good enough for me!

Great video ! Rockwell 6c, Stirling Soap, and the T3 is about as good as it gets. Your lather is looking much better ! The 6 plate is aggressive but still smooth ! If you like the T3 some other brushes you may like would be the Razorock Big Bruce or the Razorock Monster.

Good job! Awesome as always 💪 I think that lathering is an individual thing, like if you are okay with dry cream alike foam - why not. For example, I have troubles with few razors and wet foam because of differece of polishing. Agree, 6 plate on moustache areas feels rough after because angle of blade and position of guard are lower. And yeah, first plate on rockwell is perfect combination for moustache areas. Good job! Thaks for your review! Shaking your hand 🤝

Combination of Razor and the right blades is key. I use Feather or Personna with the Rockwell 6c...I tend toward the 6 plate because I usually leave growth up to around 3 or 4 days. Would like to try the Kai blades.

I just received some Feather blades from Razor Emporium and am admittedly pretty intimidated about their first use. Yikes! I’m thinking about level 2.5 on my T2SS and hoping it will tame the blade and provide a smooth, efficient BBS result. Keeping my fingers crossed…styptic pencil in hand! Thanks.

Dave: I'm a fan of your channel. I enjoy your content. I've been watching it for about 8 months. And, I'm a fellow Buckeye that lives near Boardman. (Kosar Country) Yes, I'm a Browns fan! #DawgPound 🔸I too, have sensitive skin when I shave..🔸 I use a Merkur 23 C Razor and exclusively Gillette Wilkinson Sword Saloon Pack Blades from India...Ken Surfs and Paul H's favorite blades. Oh and a Merkur 23c is actually CHEAPER than a Merkur 34c. I have been using my 23c since I began wet shaving. About 4 years ago. There is one thing that does bother me about your shaves. I'm a traditional 3 pass shaver with a full clean up pass. - Daily mind you. What bothers me is what you call your 1st Pass -- with the grain. With the Grain is typically directly North to South through the entire face- cheek to neck. You go With the Grain down to your jaw line then go against the grain on your neck.. To me that's unconventional. Seems a bit weird, to me..😖 My second pass is across the grain on the cheek and on the neck against the grain. My Final pass is across the grain on the neck and against the grain on the top portion of my face. My clean up pass is basically anywhere I have missed with touch and feel then eliminating what I've missed. A good portion of my shaves have been bbs, but there have been shaves that have been close, but not bbs. I have cut down significantly on my nicks and cuts and that's due to my knowing my 23c well and how to use it. I know each face is different and each has their own styles of shaving.. I STRONGLY SUGGEST that you try a Merkur 23c. It's a damn good razor and I've had fantastic results with it.. I can't complain at all. I'm just trying to help out a fellow sensitive skin shaver like myself! Good Luck with your channel and good luck with your shaves!! I'll keep watching your content!👍🏻👍🏻🫡🫡

What kind of shaving result? Skin level or as nearly so as possible and the more uniform the uncut hair the better. I use a few light partial passes to reach it.
