hi Kevin. I am following to all your videos and just saw this one. I have a problem with doing a simple animation to look nice. I am trying to rotate a component 360 degree. So I pushed the slider 2 seconds forward and rotate the component for 45 degree with the cube. I did that several times till I came to the end. when you see the animation the component is moving forward and backward during rotation. do you have an idea whats going wrong? Here is a link to my animation www.scale-print.de/de/startseite/339-motorattrappe-buecker-jungmeister.html

@ProductDesignOnline4 жыл бұрын
Hi, Chris. I'll have to make a page on my website with more in-depth recommendations and comparisons. In the meantime, here are some of the top couple of "hobbyists/small business" CNC and 3D Printers that I would recommend. CNC Machines -Carbide 3D Shapeoko -Inventables X-Carve -Mysweety CNC 3018PRO-M Mini (Budget) 3D Printers -Ultimaker (if you’re going to run prints everyday/24 hours) -Prusa i3 mk3 -Creality3D Ender-3 (Budget) I should note that these are all ones that I own, have owned, or have personally seen in action/recommendations from friends. There are definitely some more out there that could be on this list. As far as combo ones, I know there are a few out there, but I personally wouldn't recommend that. I've found that they either work well in one realm and not the other. Or, the required setup to switch from one type to the other makes it somewhat impractical to have it for both. I hope this helps a bit! Cheers, Kevin :)

Kevin. Been watching a video on putting a chain on a sprocket in fusion 360 and the guy says he knows in solidworks you can have the chain following a path so the sprockets turn, but he doesn’t think that feature is available in fusion 360. As I cant comment, can you tell me if it is? Like say a gearbox with the gears rotating, and will fusion prompt you if theres an issue somewhere stopping the model from working?
@ProductDesignOnline4 жыл бұрын
To create motion like that you have to use a series of contact sets and joints. From what I'm envisioning, based on your comment, that is possible in Fusion 360. However, take my word lightly, as it would depend on how the specific model is built. I do intend to (at some point) create more tutorials on joints and motion...they're on the never-ending list of tutorials to create. Cheers, Kevin :)

Can u make a video of designing any vehicle like a car, tank etc. if you can. And also suggest what all should we know in fusion 360 to design the tank u did. Tell how you did the body and the tires
@ProductDesignOnline5 жыл бұрын
Hi, vaasanthass k. To design curvature of a car you will want to "master" the surface modeling tools that are all found under the "Surface" tab in the new toolbar UI. These surface tools let you focus on the exterior curvature, without worrying about the thickness until later on. For something like this take, you can complete it using the Solid modeling tools. It was created using the loft and sweep and extrude commands for almost all of its features. The key is to break it down into achievable sections that you can recreate with simple geometry. Cheers, Kevin :)

Hey Kevin, thank you so much for this great series! I really enjoyed it and learned a lot so I can finally leave FreeCAD and use this way better program now! I am able to let the pen move along the text but I want to make the text appear piece by piece as the pen moves along. How would I do that or what do I have to search for? I've been searching online but it seems that I am not using the right words... Thank you!
@ProductDesignOnline5 жыл бұрын
Hi, MrsGynny. First, thanks for taking the time to follow along with the series! I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it and learned a lot. In regards to the pen animation, I'm afraid that Fusion 360's animation workspace is not the best solution for what you're trying to achieve. Fusion 360's animation workspace is fairly limited. It was built more for the presentation of design ideas...to show how a model works or was built. Therefore, there aren't really any features that let you make additions to the surrounding environment. You may be better off exporting your Fusion 360 built pen model into another program, such as Blender or 3Ds Max. Those programs will give you a lot more creative freedom to achieve what you're describing above. Cheers, Kevin :)

Great work, Brandon! After making it through this series... I always try to recommend a certain type of modeling technique based on the projects you'll most likely be working on. Remind me again, what are you mainly using Fusion 360 for? I have several playlists, which can help you learn surfacing, sculpting, etc - kzbin.infoplaylists

Product Design Online mostly I just enjoy making things to 3d print. I have a couple of simple products that I designed, print and sell. But I am also interested in learning more about organic form modeling. I really am enjoying this so much I wish I could switch careers now and do this as a living.

Very Helpful!!!!!! Question? at 13:42 on time line on your video it shows you can upload as MP4. The only option I get on the new UI is AVI when uploading to my computer. Is there a place i.e. in preferences to change this? John
@ProductDesignOnline5 жыл бұрын
Hi, John. I just checked on both the current UI and the new UI Preview. I'm still getting the MP4 option. Are you on Windows or Mac? It may have to do something with that.... as far as I know there are no options or setting available to changes this. Cheers, Kevin :)

@@ProductDesignOnline I am using Windows 7 with a 64 bit processor. Not the end of the world, just wondered if there was a setting in preferences somewhere that could be changed. Thanks for taking a look for me. John

@@helicopterjohns You're welcome! I just asked on the forum to see if we get any responses with some reasoning behind this. This will hopefully give us a certain answer or let us know that this is a bug. I'll let you know if/when I get a reply. Cheers, Kevin :)

Thank you very much sir for your time and effort. I just finished your entire learn fusion 360 in 30 days playlist and I really enjoyed it and learned A LOT!! I went from never using a CAD program, besides a little TinkerCad, to feeling really comfortable in fusion 360. I've liked and subscribed and am looking forward to watching your other videos. Thank you so much! Keep up the great work!

Can you still get fusion 360 free
@ProductDesignOnline5 жыл бұрын
Hi Larry. Yes, you can still get Fusion 360 for free. Anyone can sign up for the startup/hobbyist license for free, as long as you are making less than 100k per year from Fusion 360. The license is valid for 1 year, but you can renew it each year. Cheers, Kevin :)

Hi Kevin, Just finished your 30 days beginners playlist. The best tutorials I came across. What a nice surprise after my earlier experience in ACAD KZbin video's (long time ago). Well structured and well explained without unnecessary detailing. Thank you so much. What will be your advice for the next step in my case knowing that my interest lies in mainly mechanical designs, CNC and 3D printing?

Thank You for the series, Now I will be starting one of your other playlists. Just something that bugs me a lot about the animation making is that it doesn't allow to move the components based on the joins. It gets so annoying when you want to animate how something works but you can only explode them. I hope soon they add a feature like "motion study" from assemble menu to animation page.
