Unsure of what to do with the grooves at the bottom of your quilling husking board? You're not alone! There's almost no information out there for ideas.
In this video, I experiment with my husking board to see what kind of creations I can make.

I’ve always loved quilling since I first saw pieces when I was a child 65+ years ago. I came across a kit at Michaels and decided to give it a try after finding your videos. I just mailed off my first try as a birthday card for a friend. It’s definitely a first try but I had lots of fun. Thank you for all your generosity in sharing your time, talents and experiments.

I don't have this board, but if I would have, I would arrange the straight pieces in the grooves leaving ends hanging out and then take a long piece and glue it to the hanging out ends. This way it would be faster and you won't get any glue in the grooves.

What an interesting tool! I have that exact same one but it didn't have anything on the box so I had no clue what to do with it. I love the fern. I'm definitely going to give the fern a try. Thanks for doing this tutorial! I can see the ideas are almost endless! Update: I tried this tonight and ended up with nothing but a mess that promptly went into the waste basket.. i think I really needed to put a thicker piece in the vertical slot and I probably should have used the wider strips. The 1/8th ones are awfully narrow and hard to get out.

They definitely come in different sizes. I just bought a set of 5 and one is really big but that's great for curling card stock when making flowers. One is very tiny and I have not been successful in getting a strip of paper in it. Two are exactly the same size, another was a tiny bit larger and the other thing was the long needle.

Have you seen the silhouette of the ballerina on here? Or that framed LOVE quilling on here? What you were doing was exactly what the other person was doing and filling the LOVE sign up! Such a sweet piece! Please keep up the great work! What do you do with your pieces? I scrapbook and make journals and books, mixed media. I seen some parts and pieces and I never did it because on my hobbies you have to have everything flat. I saw on Amazon, everything included in a case. It’s like $50.00, but I was wondering if it was a cheap flimsy junk? Should I buy my tools and papers separate? If you could lend some of your expertise to me it would greatly be appreciated!😁When I buy the paper quilling strips is their a recommendation of certain ones not to buy? Let me know when you get a chance?👍🙏👏👏👏😁

I've never bought one of the kits on Amazon, but I would read the reviews of everything to see what others think. As far as what I use, I have a page on my website for essential quilling tools 👉 www.thepaperycraftery.com/shop-my-favorite-supplies/. Quilling strips is also a personal choice. Some people like the thinner strips, others like a heavier weight. For me it depends on the project. I would sample a few brands to see what you think. But I always include links to exactly what I use in the descriptions of all my videos.

@@ThePaperyCraftery I have absolutely no idea what I will do with all these little things I've been making. Lat week someone mentioned that they did quilling. I didn't know what that was so I looked it up. Looked like fun so I bought a bunch of stuff and am now learning how to use it and eventually, I'll figure out what to use it for. Right now, I am into making cards and using my Cricut and a few weeks ago I got an embossing machine. Don't know what I'll do with any of it but once I am past the newbie stage I will know. Just hope I can keep finding great tutorials like this one.

Does a husking board do the same thing as a comb?
@ThePaperyCraftery
@ThePaperyCraftery 2 жыл бұрын
Great question! It's the same idea as its all about wrapping the paper around the pegs just like you wrap around the teeth on the comb. But because you can move the pegs around, you have more options to make more creative designs. If you haven't seen my other video on the husking board, you can see that here👉 kzbin.info/www/bejne/jmWlmZd_iNV_fa8 It has a couple of ideas for how you can place your pegs.
