No problem glad it helped you 😊 yes you can buy the containers from dumpers depot and store the full/empty canisters in there, or in backpacks stored in your ship.

You can sell the canisters at planet side TDD terminals ... they sell for 192 aUEC per canister, I did some testing and it seems like you can only sell them one canister at a time

Tried to hand salvage today purchased canisters from dampers went out but when I load them into the tool it says canister full and won't let me salvage anything not idea what I'm doing wrong here, the readout says it's empty

I gave multitool hand salvage and repair another go to see whether what you're explaining is a bug or something else ... based on my experience in the video I recorded yesterday kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4G1hYNnfpiIlbs I think it might be a bug unfortunately :-(
