How to use the Kee Tester

I just purchased one , It arrived today I tested multiple pieces It seemed to work pretty good overall but I did notice I had one piece of 18k gold heavily plated over sterling silver, It tested as 18 karat gold I really had to grind down on it to wear it off to where it would test red. Also I have a pair of 14 karat gold earrings stamped 14k as well as 585 for whatever reason those earrings would not move the needle off platinum. So now I'm not sure what to make of it if they are fake or indeed 14k.

hi, how many times you can use the prob? unlimited times or just 1000 times?

So, this machine doesn’t test all metals, only gold? I need something that tests for gold and silver.

Just remember to calibrate the Kee tester with a know piece of 18K gold one time before your test session. This is do to varying resistance of gold with variances of ambient temperature changes.

is there any liquids to use to prevent the probe from drying?

Unfortunately the only way to prevent the prob from drying faster then under normal use is to make sure to place the cup over the tip when done testing.
