As a Reefslider fan, I like that you talk about the line of sight thing, line of sight and how that plays into explosion hitboxes is one of the most underlooked, yet crucial mechanics to understand in the game from how much explosions dominate this game! Semi-related bomb tip to this video: Remember that nearly EVERY explosion in the game besides Blasters and Explosher shots (but NOT stringer bombs) function like slider, in that the person being hit's screen is the only thing that matters towards taking damage. With this in mind, it can cause weird jank if bombs explode desynced (like on extreme lag, brella shields or splash walls), but unless it paints over you unfairly, you won't ever die because of it.

The sad part to me is that Reefslider could have had a funny idea but I think it overlaps too much with Kraken now that it's back. My inner F-Zero fan kind of wishes for something that gave armor instead of spotty invincibility and that you could drive it around with a spin attack as like an 80 Hitbox (vs just driving being a 60-70 to run over). Where Kraken is slow but invincible and thus kind of holds an area down, I'm imagining this as racing in to grab attention or chase opponents out of an area akin to a Special-version of what a lot of QR weapons do. Crab Tank meanwhile has a lot of Fire Power but little mobility to push in while you want to get close and beak, vs this being a less sturdy but quick close-range where you need to out range it. Or to get really funny, imagine a ground-based answer to Ink Jet where you can drive around fast and use a small shooter instead of the large blast fire. This part being my inner Shadow the Hedgehog brain.

Undercover player here: a few things I learned from climbing to 3500 x rank with undercover is that, one, please pick a different weapon, but two, you are playing to annoy their backline or pressure their midline out of place. I mainly use slider to safely get into their backline and pressure things like chargers and splatlings, but keep in mind *you are not playing for that kill*. Kind of counter intuitive, but if you can force their backline out, you also force someone else to come and help them. Once you get two or more enemies on you, you should be able to get slider back, and you can slider out or play for another pick. Your biggest counters are sloshers and blasters. You shouldn't be fighting them as often, but if they're the ones to come and attack you, place mines in their strafe pattern and back up. Their weak paint will force them to focus on painting out or trying to shoot around your shield.

This is truly the special of all time, just today i saw someone infront of my eyes reefslide my entire team... I watch my team get tripple splatted in absolute horror "twice in the same match btw" as the entire enemy team rushed at me with killing intend... And whenever i use its edge slightly touches the corner of a block and the whole thing comes to a halt or gets thrown completely off mark and i get splatted as i end up directly in the middle of the enemy team

Something that wasn't mentioned in this video that I thought was worth bringing up is a little 'tech' you can do specifically on Dapples and areospray If you catch an enemy in your slider's 70 hit box you can roll a torpedo/fizzy at them if it hits them it will combo for a kill It's a pretty helpful at forcing trades just getting solo kills

11:20 To describe it in another way, Slider cheese can cap Zone, but a) the opponents can just shoot you (and you lost both a special and a player with no benefit) b) they can just paint over it. Imagine you had a Golden Aerospray teammate who just rushed Zone-sure, it's annoying for the enemy, but you are constantly in a 3v4 and they just keep mid (and thus the objective) for the whole game.

Another key thing with slider!!! Like with splash wall, a brella shield also stops the rails. This is especially true with recycled since you can launch your shield at the slider to force it to stop really early.
