How to use the NS Adapter

I use the Nanopresso at work and it makes a good expresso. I bought NS adapter and the barista kit, it works.

It 's a great option to have the NS Adapter, you can choose it, for a quick and consistant brew, which will taste every time the same, depending on the cup you choose, with ground you have to be precise each time, it's free to choose what you like, which is possible with the adapter, ground will be a lot cheaper i guess, but will not be constant in taste. Great to have when at work, where machines produce bad espresso/coffee

I faced some issues, when i used ns capsules, while pumping i faced resistance and used both hands to pump to the ends, not tlike ground coffee

Same, I have to pump really hard and it eventually clogs. I’m left with a half shot of weak espresso.

My NS adapter sometimes leaks unbrewed water through the portafilter. Other times, the foil seal catastrophically ruptures and I get coffee grounds in my cup. Am I just pumping too hard?

When unbrewed water comes through, the seal is not broken properly, tightening the nozzle more, or un-tightening and re-tightening will often fix this issue. Coffee grounds in the cup should not happen if the nozzle is sealed tight. Try to twist it tighter, or switch up your capsules as it could be capsule related.

Mike I had the same issue. The foil lid would be left in the top half of the Nanopresso and be covered in ground. I’ve found since that using all Aluminium capsules, I don’t get that failure. I’ve been using LOR caps for a while and it’s been fine. I used to use plastic caps and they were the ones that failed regularly.

I have had the same issue, or it would not puncture the capsules no matter how tightly I closed it. I attempted with different capsules, and had the same iasue, so I just went back to using ground coffee

Do I need to use hot water for expression shots to work or can I use cold water? I would like to make ice americano at work with this thing.. I like expresso shots with almond milk and stivia

these are the normal cups you buy for any nespresso machine, there are no special capsules for the Nanpresso…..

Good invention, but I prefer the ground coffee! It is much better and you have more options and you can use the barista kit much better!

Nope! All our Nanopresso's are identical.

Oh, really? That means I have been using it wrongly all along? In my case the element of the adapter with the metal outer ring remains attached on the pump when I unscrew the top that let's me insert or remove the NS pod. However, it still works ... I wonder if it makes any difference!

You can screw on the nozzle more tightly and more easily if you have the adapter attached to the portafilter vs the body of the Nanopresso. Either way will work, but this is recommended :)

@@Wacaco Tried your tip to use the NS-adapter attached to the cap instead of the body (did it the way Nicola Cammisa did too). Works a lot better in the way you recommend it, the cap of the pod is no longer rubbed off and the coffee gets a lot stronger (due to the better brew). Didn't think that such a small change of use would make such a huge difference in result. Thanks for the tip!

not for inside this device, milk you always mix seperate….just like any other machine i guess.

I've only used the pod attachment a few times, and then the disc in the top cracked and fell out. Now the whole unit does not function. I need to order a new disc.

It is ok but too much work, each time you have to wash and clean it for a little drink. Not my cup of coffee,

I used the NS adaptor, the Nespresso capsule exploded and I got coffee FULL of grounds.No creamy in the coffee cup and coffee was too light.can anyone help me to solve this problem??

The seal wasn't tightened properly causing the capsule to not be punctured on the top side. Tighten it properly and you'll get a good shot everytime.
