I'm going to tell you why I'll never use the Nanopresso ever again and compare it to the newer WACACO Picopresso!
I'm going to be comparing it to another Wacaco portable espresso brewer, the Nanopresso which I've used many times in the past but will never use again.
On the surface, the Picopresso just looks like a model update and aside from a slightly bigger basket, a nice casing, and a WDT tool, it's just the same. Watch the video to see why I believe it's so much more than just a newer model, it really is a revolutionary upgrade, and it's my new favourite travel brewer.
If you, like me, hate traveling without your espresso machine and trying to randomly find a good coffee in a new city, then this is the answer to your dreams! I will never have to waste good money on bad coffee again because I have finally found a good enough espresso machine that can fit in my pocket and journey with me wherever I go.
Enjoy your brew!

I am super passionate about coffee and educating people on all aspects of this amazing drink. I love bringing the stories back from the other side of the world about how they grow and process the coffee differently on each farm, in each region, and in each country. I also love helping baristas around the world make better coffee for themselves, whether they're at home, professional, competitors and or even just venturing out into the wide world of coffee.

Picopresso is a marvel of engineering. If you use the right blend (for me dark roast) and grind, the espresso is phenomenal. Great video mate.

Have you tried coffeejack, kopipresso that have a hand pump from the top? Would be very interesting to do a comparison.

Having played about with the Nanopresso after getting some really bad initial results I find I'm actually getting some nice espresso from it now. Using the Wacaco grinder set to 20 clicks, 14g of coffee (in the larger basket) and with the pressurised piece removed from the unit I get a really nice consistent stream of espresso with a good taste rather than it building up too much pressure and coming out in drips and being under extracted like yours. It's definitely more capable than it seemed in your video but it looks like you could get way better results with the Pico with significantly less experimenting. I'm hoping to upgrade soon.

Yeh, removing the pressurized piece helps but I just found the whole experience with the Pico night and day compared with the nano. Definitely worth the upgrade! 🙌

Mine can never build up any pressure. I thought it was an defect and so I bought another but the other one is a problem as well. What is the issue? I went with a very fine espresso grind

If you're grinding it yourself, just keep going finer. And you've definitely got the dispersion screen on the right way? If you're buying preground coffee, that's your issue right there. It will be old and never ground fine enough.

@9:43 did it start leaking from the seal?
@Rydecoffeecoach
@Rydecoffeecoach 10 ай бұрын
No I don't think so, it's just hard to film it and hold it straight so it looks worse than when I normally hold it over the cup. But I don't think it came through the seal. It's a pretty solid build.

Definitely it's leaking 100%
@Rydecoffeecoach
@Rydecoffeecoach 8 ай бұрын
@@mariogauci1451 It really isn't. It's just how I'm holding it, I'm not level so it looks like it's coming out the side. If it was leaking there would be water coming through the side, not coffee.

You have been using the nanopresso for years and find it fantastic and loved it. Here you are testing picopresso and the nanopresso now you critisize the nano 6:53 7:53 like you never used it before 😄.

Thanks for the video! Just met your channel-- awesome stuff! Been loving my Pico for the last 2 months! Quick question... Have you ever tried the cafelat robot??? I wonder if it'll be better enough than the pico to justify the purchase?... Or the flair?.... Any thoughts???
@Rydecoffeecoach
@Rydecoffeecoach Жыл бұрын
Yes I think it out performs all the robots or Roks out there. Maybe not the 58mm flair but certainly any other portable brewer. 🤘👌

@@Rydecoffeecoach wait a minute, sorry you're saying that the Pico would outperform the Robot and Rok???
@Rydecoffeecoach
@Rydecoffeecoach Жыл бұрын
It's just my opinion but yes. I have both and I would take the Pico over each of them, not just for space saving but ease of use and cleaning and extractions.

@@Rydecoffeecoach whoa.... The Pico is my first espresso brewer... And I knew it was good but I didn't know it was that good hahaha... The robot has a cult like following-- That it's as good as any expensive machine etc etc.. so I thought I needed it. But maybe youre right that the Pico performs the same...

I must be the outlier that ranks the Picopresso over the robot but I stand by my own experiences with the two and the Pico is my number one.

You’re not pumping the nanopresso correctly. If you were to use the palm of your hand instead of your fingers, you would get a more consistent pump with consistent pressure. Also, you have to aim to have a steady flow. Otherwise, the extraction isn’t good at all. It’s definitely fidgety.
@Rydecoffeecoach
@Rydecoffeecoach Жыл бұрын
Yeh I tried that and its very uncomfortable to do it that way (for me at least). I found i get a much more steady flow on the Pico but if they release a gauge for the nano I'll go back to it and see it that gives a more even flow. Thanks for the tips!

@@Rydecoffeecoach Also pump 10-12 times then wait 10 seconds (pre-infusion), then full on pump. I bet you're closer to 10% then.
