Keep this in mind. The MO series is running a Motif ES 128 note sound engine stripped down to 64 notes. That's literally cut in half. When sequencing, the moment you start using the sustain pedal and arps you're going to blow the poly in just a few tracks. You have to make compromises with a synth like this. For example use more poly friendly voices for backing instruments that do not have a high poly count. You can tweek the GM voices to get some nice backing patches as well. It will save poly.

hey Chris. Any idea how to combine 2 or more arppegiators in performance mode on the MO6?

wow. i have been trying the gm voices and they are great. i can get alot more out of the sequencer now. thanks so much for the suggestion.

The MO's GM voices aren't going to give you the quality of the preset patches, but you can tweek them enough so that they make good backing instruments. The most common problem I see in mixes today is a sequence where the sounds don't sit well together rather each sounds as if they're competing for the spot-light. Creative editing of GM voices can be VERY beneficial for a board with limited poly.

i do agree. it is a shame that they cut back the ES capabilities when they put it in the MO i will try the GM voices for backing. thanks

are you talking about using something like sonar?
@chrisc7415 жыл бұрын
the mo6 does have some good sounds on it. the strings, bass, guitar etc are really good but the dance sounds are limited. i have only had a quick look at the korg but i think it might have a better range for what you want. i got the mo6 for its guitar and strings because i think it has the best acoustic sounds. for dance i use vsts like nexus. i will keep looking for ideas.

between this synth and the Korg TR76, which one is a better synth, I don't know which one to buy. I write dance, club, techno. Does anyone know between these two what one would be the better synth for dance and club and all that. thanks

the mo6 is better. it has more sounds than the mm6 also you can load different voices from the ES6. not sure if its the best for dance techno. might be worth going to the yamaha forum and asking them.

I tried to keep-up with the speed of your explanation, but you are going too fast (on some bits) . I cant figure out wich buttons you press during your demo cors the cam is not covering all in wide overview... i even tried to watch this vid in "pause and play mode" but still... Don't get me wrong..i appreciate very much what you do, but for a beginner some things are going too fast..

Hey man thanks a lot I can know see the amount of available memory. It says: 381.0/896.0KB. Is the available memory enough to save a song with 7 tracks? And another question: How do I save a song. I've tried it before but it shows me a screen wich says that there's not enough memory.

as far as i am aware any memory stick should be alright. i just got a 1gb memory stick. i think i had to format it which i think you can do on the mo6. you can pick one up cheap from ebay or from your local store.

Hi can you please consider creating a tutorial where you actually build a drum pattern first one part at a time rather than used pre-programmed beats? For example...TRACK ONE bass drum, TRACK TWO snare drum, TRACK THREE high hat. Then some instruments such as TRACK FOUR bass guitar, TRACK FIVE keys.etc...? This would be much more helpful than using these pre-fab beats

I'm using a Motif ES8, but it's almost the same. when I've recorded my patterns they seem to dissapear after a while. it usualy happens when I use the mute button. well, I hope you know what it is once again, thanks a lot Robin check out my first beat on my page
