Hi, First of all thanks sharing this video, i have this camera but i am unable to connect iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, 2017), Did you have any idea to connect it, please advice.

I have a pvgs500 but to capture minidv tape videos from it set your camera to video playback mode, not pc mode, then and make sure motiondv or a similar option is turned on in the playback setting menu. Then connect it via the usb port on the camera to your computer. You will now be able to control the tape play back from your computer using an NLE or software designed just to capture miniDV tapes just like you could with firewire. Hope this helps if you have been stuck.
