I think I'm going to have to buy these - I've never used Affinity Designer before but I am fairly familiar with Procreate..however, for seamless pattern designs - it seems like Affinity Designer is something that I need to seriously consider. I might buy the iPad version and the desktop version - just so I've got the flexibility to alternate between devices. Thank you for sharing - it will save lots of time! x

So glad you're keen on this tool, it really is a time saver! Although I don't use Affinity as my main designing app (I use Adobe Illustrator and Procreate mainly for my pattern designs) I've heard many happy users satisfied with the software. Just bear in mind the iPad version isn't the "full" desktop version and some of the functionality is lacking, missing or a bit cumbersome. So I recommend using the desktop version with these templates for a smooth and easy experience. Hope that helps!

@@Lisaglanz Aw, many thanks for letting me know. I thought about Adobe Illustrator but I don't want to have to pay out for a monthly subscription x

I've never seen the pattern & live preview setup like this before. I usually have 2 separate artboards for it, but this looks like it's going to be so much easier, it just makes sense! I'm pretty excited to get it started! Also, I thought I was missing templates, I'm glad I decided to come watch this because now I know where all the others are hiding lol.

Hi lisa, love this it looks so amazing, does this work for affinity in the ipad?
@Lisaglanz Жыл бұрын
So glad you like it! I recommend the desktop version simply because the iPad version doesn't have all the features of the full desktop version. And some iPads might struggle with the larger files. If you are only using the vector persona then it should be fine for the iPad, but if you want to use a pixel brush off the edge of the canvas, this is where it gets tricky as the iPad version is glitchy and makes changing the document size (a process needed) very tricky. So in short, the desktop version is recommended. Hope that answers your question. If you have any other questions at all, please don't hesitate to let me know.

@@Lisaglanzis this still the case today? I am iPad only and would love to use your templates
@LisaglanzАй бұрын
@@diglife5821 Yes it is unfortunately. There are some users who are very proficient with the iPad version who don't have a problem at all using the templates. However, for a beginner I recommend the Desktop version for a smoother experience. Not sure if that answers your question!

Hello, When I use geometry templates, I have to repeat and rotate half of the illustration because there's no mirror tool in Vector Persona, right? This doesn't happen automatically?
@LisaglanzАй бұрын
Hi! As far as I know there is only a Mirror option in the Pixel Paint Brush mode. I'm not aware of an automatic mirror option in Vector. You could use the Move/Duplicate pop up for precision placement, just hit enter when you have your items selected to bring up the panel. Hope that helps!
