How To Use The Percent Key On The New Casio fx-83GT CW Scientific Calculator (The Percent Button).

Looking for a calculator for my son whose starting secondary school and can't believe how complicated they've made the simplest actions on these calculators. Thankfully I've found some new old stock FX-83GTX which while still needing a 2nd function to access % at least it's not buried in a 'probability' menu. Farcical!

@@mathsmark the local Sainsbury had a load of FX-85GTXs on their shelves today so i bought a couple. I think the only difference is they use a solar cell and back up battery rather than an AA or AAA cell.

Terrible calculator. Why bury the percentage in a menu? Where is the button? The numerics displayed are too small with no way to increase the font size.

this was super helpful!! i couldn't find it so i've been doing "(for example) 9/100 x 50" 😭 makes me wonder why they didnt just put the percent sign onto the calculator, they put the x symbol twice!

It doesn’t need a charge, the battery will last for ages.

You won’t be able to work it the same way as an iPhone calculator. You will have to find 45% of the number and then subtract the answer.
