Percentages on Casio Scientific Calculator

This is a video in my Casio Scientific Calculator tutorial series. In this video, I demonstrate how to calculate percentages of any number using the Casio Scientific Calculator. I also show how you can find what number a value is the certain percentage of. The model I use in the video is a Casio Fx-300MS. The steps, however, should be the same on similar models.

Please can I ask you something I have just purchased this calculator. With my old one I could do for example 2 continuous percentages calculations. For example 1000x10%=+ which is 1100 and then pressed the equal button meaning ansx10%=+ which normally is 1210 but Casio gives some thing else is there a solution to that? So that I can do continuous percentage calculations?

To add you need to press the divide button and to subtract you use the multiply button

You can try 1(1+10%) . This will take 10% of 1 and add it to 1. To add 5% to 10 for example the input will be 10(1+5%).

Not working for adding and subtracting percentage

Unlike four function calculator used in stores this works differently. By inputting a '%' you're basically telling the calculator to divide by 100. For example of you try 100+20% the calculator interpret it as 100+(20/100) and gives an answer 100.2 to add a 20% of 100 the input should be 100+20%*100 so this way it will add 20% of 100 rather than just 20% (0.2)

You can also try (to add 20% of 100) inputting 100(1+20%) and 100(1-20%) to subtract 20%. Works like a charm
