And second note: the frequency of RER's depend on what line you are what portion or what branch you are at or the time you are on them (peak hours etc...) During peak hours for example the RER A (will run like every 1 or 2 minutes (if you are in Paris) sometimes there's even a train waiting at the entry of the sations just behind the one that is on the platform... (RER A is the busiest line in Europe that's why). 2nd note the colorful trains that you see on the RER E are not supposed to be there, they are labelled NAT or Francilien or Z5000 and they are supposed to run on the Transilien network lines H,J,K,L,N,P,R and U but since the RER E trains model (MI2N or Z22500) were getting older they have put theses train on the line to reinforce the service... When the extension of the RER E to Mantes la jolie will be done will come another set of new Trains (RER NG) the MI2N will be retired progressively and the NAT (Colourful trains) will go back on the Transilien. Last but not least Magenta station is Gare du Nord, it is connected to Gare du Nord but the station is Magenta (because of the location of the station)

In fact RER is the name given to the first 5 suburban lines that cross Paris. The RER A and B are more fast heavy metros, while the RER C D and E are more suburban trains. But there are also lines H,J,K,L,N,P,R,U (known as transilien). The difference is that they end at a terminal surface station (Paris nord, Paris est ,Paris St Lazare etc...) the majority are equipped with the colorful trains that you had on the RER E (they will leave from this line in 2025).
@TheSavvyCScoop2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this explanation! I was hesitant to mention the transilien so I wouldn’t confuse people. I’ll probably make a video about the trams soon. Thanks for watching

I just want to point out something: The RER B express to Charles de Gaulle Airport is not necessary if there's an other RER B going to Charles de Gaulle before... Given the fact that they run on the same tracks (The other on will have to wait behind). Back in the day it was possible with the Express train running with the two tracks parallel to those of the RER B and would go back on the omnibus tracks just before Aulnay-sous-Bois but since the creation of "Transilien" line K departing from Gare du Nord express to Aulnay-Sous-Bois Mitry Claye etc... (station where the RER B also goes but not express) and TER and Intercity trains the RER B express to CDG uses the omnibus tracks. But by 2026 or 27 there will be a train called "CDG Express" going to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport departing from Gare de l'est, it will be linked by a tunnel and a bridge to the Gare du Nord tracks, the train will be using the "Transilien" K and TER tracks and just before Mitry-Claye there a TGV (High speed train) line running perpendicularly over the RER_B/Transilien_K to CDG airport, well the CDG express will be disconnected from the other tracks and will bust a L leftside and will run along two tacks created parralleling the TGV line to CDG. A lot of details sorry😅

How do you know which RER trains are the express one to CDG? Also when you chose an airport ticket it says “ Roissy Charles de gaules” is that the same as Paris CDG? Thank you for your videos they are really helpful!
@TheSavvyCScoop2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! I’m glad to hear that my videos are helpful to you😊When you’re at a train station looking at the RER B sign of upcoming trains. Look for the trains titled “Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 1 TGV” or “Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2 TGV” those are express trains that’ll take you directly to the airport from Châtelet and/or Gare du Nord. And yes, for a one-way ticket from Charles de Gaulle to Paris (City-center) select the “Roissy Charles de Gaulle” option. Frankly, I’m not sure as why to the word “Roissy” is sometimes added but it’s going to the Charles de Gaulle airport. That one-way airport ticket (going or coming) costs 11 euros and 40 cents. Hope that helps!

This video has really helped me and I do apologize in advance if this is a stupid question but does RER A and B meet at any point, what I mean is can I get to RER A if Im on RER B?? Thank you so much!!
@inglewoodea31492 жыл бұрын
@@TheWaffleMan93 RER A and B meet at Châtelet-les-halles you can even change trains directly on the same platform if: You are in RER B going south, you will be able so change with RER A that is going east, if you are in RER B heading northside you will be able to change also directly next to you on the same platform with RER A going west, there's also the RER D but you have to go up in the hall to change platform... RER B and D also interconnect at Gare du Nord (with same way like A and B in Châtelet, in Gare du Nord for B and D it's North-North and South-South) and finally RER A and D interconnect at Gare de Lyon but this time th platform are one above the other (D above and A a level below) RER C and E are more isolated and meet with AB and D in other stations in and out of Paris... Except I forgot to mention you can also interconnect with RER E in Gare du nord it is isolated from B and D but easy to connect and the station is labelled with another name (Magenta)

Thank you it was quite detailed. If i take RER C to Versailles can I buy a return ticket and go? What i mean is how long are the tickets valid for? Cause I don't want to miss a RER in the evening after a long day at Versailles. Thanks
@TheSavvyCScoop Жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching! I hope the video was helpful to you. When you go to Versailles, I suggest that you get two tickets (Round trip: one going to Versailles and one coming back). Unless you get a specific pass (Navigo Day, Navigo Weekend, etc. , single use tickets don’t expire. They’re valid from the moment you enter them into the ticket machine and when you leave the destination station completely then it’s done. Hope that helps!

Hi there ! What is the easiest way to get to Eiffel Tower from Charles de Gaulle airport. My hotel is by the Eiffel Tower.thanks again.
@TheSavvyCScoop Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! The easiest way would be to get an Uber or taxi. I'm not sure what your budget will be, but it can range from 60-75 euros. If that's a bit over budget for you then I recommend taking Metro Line 9 (Trocadéro to Chaussée d'Antin - La Fayette) then take the RoissyBus from Opéra to Charles de Gaulle. Bonne vacances! 🇫🇷

Going from dl paris back to the airport...need to get to the airport by like 6am. What time does the rer open up? And how late does it run? We need to get on it early. How do you know which line is the express to the airport?
@TheSavvyCScoop Жыл бұрын
Great questions, thank you for watching! The RER opens at 5:30 am and closes around 1/1:30 am, so it's an option, but a bit risky to get to the airport around 6am. RER B (the blue one) offers the express line and it'll be clearly labeled as "Aéroport Charles de Gaulle" on the screens in the station as well as announced overhead while riding on the train. With that being said, if I were you, I'd either take an Uber/taxi from DL Paris to CDG (40 minute drive). There's the RER train and a bus, but that early in the morning the likelihood of it arriving right on time with no issues isn't high. It's safer to pay for the convenience/peace of mind. Bonnes vacances🇫🇷
