There are several shape tools in Photoshop Elements including the rectangle shape tool, the ellipse shape tool, and the custom shape tool. Each tool has its own settings and options and I cover all of that in this Photoshop Elements Shape tool tutorial.

Hi George! I tend to use that arrow -line tool quite a bit when creating ads for marketplace and ebay!!! Very handy! I also enjoyed and enhanced my understanding of this whole segment of tools. Thanks so much George. I am loving your videos and they REALLY help me. I have a question about the Shapes in that, is there a way to create and add your own shapes, like the rabbit? I make lots of title heads and logos and would love to give them those "styles" like the beveling. And its take forever to make each letter or logo beveled by hand. Any suggestions??

There is a way to create and add your own shapes, but there is no need to. You can add the styles onto anything on a layer. Doesn't need to be a shape from the shapes. The styles are applied to the layer, not to the shape. Anything on the layer will get the style.

Can I convert an image into a custom shape to create a text path?

No, youi can't convert an image into a custom shape. But you can use several shapes to make the outline you want. Lets say we were doing Mickey Mouse, I could use 3 circle shapes for his head shape, then merge those shape layers into one custom shape and then use that for my text path.
