How to use the Split Mono feature on the Mastermind PBC/6X by RJM Music

The Mastermind PBC/6X is a 6 loop true bypass audio loop switcher. It now has the ability to split its stereo loops into independent mono loops, to allow as many as 11 independent loops!
This video describes how to set up the Split Mono feature and the special cables required to make it work.

My Browne Protein has stereo capability (tip is send, ring is return) is it possible to run that with a single trs cable per loop?

Can you use 2 OD pedals in stereo?

Yes, just connect them as we describe in the video, but don't turn on the Split Mono feature. One pedal will be on the left side, one on the right.

My question - how many mono loops in total it can handle using 4 cable method? Is it 3x2+3=9, because 7th loop is taken by send-return to the amp right?

With every loop split, there's a possibility of 11 mono loops. If you use a breakout box or something like that to split the insert loop you can get 10 loops and use the 11th for the 4 cable connection. A standard insert cable wouldn't really be usable for that purpose, a TRS in, 2 TS box would be better.

how would splitting the insert loop affect which loops are before the effects loop of my amp?

Splitting the insert loop really doesn't have any effect. When the insert loop is split, you'll then have 2 insert loops in the loop order. The insert loop you use to connect to your amp is the dividing point - any effects before it in the loop order are in front of the amp, and and effects after it are in the amp's loop. The other insert loop is basically just like any of the other loops at that point.

Hi, when i use the loop 7,8,9, are induvidual like the loop 1,23? I mean ,if i put these trs cable on the 4,5,6 loop and use these method like you describe, it would be Individual every loop on the chain? And can i Bypass a preset? Sorry of my english, i hope you understand me. Thanks Mario

Yes, all loops are individually switchable, any combination of them in any order, for each preset.

Hi- can those extra mono loops be controlled with an external switch?

Yes, you can add a two button external switch to control two loops, or a second MIDI controller to control more loops.

@@rjmmusic This is great because I already have a midi switch and I wasn’t sure if I would be able to integrate it with the PBC or if it was overkill

Any plans to bring this to the PBC10? Is that possible through firmware?

If we do choose to do it (and it's undecided at this time), it would have to be with a new version of the product. It can't be done in firmware.
