Is it me or the Wayback Machine seems really broken those days? I try to save a page, then after it is done (" A snapshot was captured. Visit page) I click on the link and it tells me something like "Hmm hmm. The Wayback Machine has not archived that URL." So I click again on "save this url" but then it says "The same snapshot had been made x time ago. We only allow new captures of the same URL every 30 minutes." Really annoyed.

I think you need an account to save a page now. I got this exact error message using the extension save page but when I made an account it worked

The internet caused trouble in my parents marriage in the mid 90s. We were the only family with a computer… let alone connected to the internet in the early 90s in my neighborhood. My dad was always upset with my mom because she was on the computer for hours every day. 😂

Its June 9, 2024 and saw The Way Back machine mentioned on tv CBS program Sunday Morning its episode 23. Since year 2020 i was heavily into watching KZbin and many medical doctor related videos mentioned that info was disappearing from Pub'Med, NIH, Web-Health and the paid for medical sites they were members of. The first one I saw that mentioned it was a state boatdrdical doctor who was diagnosed with a slow crippling disease. When she progressed into a wheel chair no longer able to work, in her new free time she did deep dives into many diff medical websites for humans and animals. Found very interesting test trials and set up her test trial and documented it. Do not know if she accessed the Way Back, but i suspect yes. She ended up reverse her condition by 50% by using prescription medicines off use (not what its normally used for) and dietary changes. Went from wheel chair bound to walking with a cane and vastly improved stamina.

I have a question. Do saved URLS on archive today get automatically saved to archive org? It's a different archive site. I added a URL to archive today and it suddenly appeared in the wayback machine couple days later. I'm pretty sure I am the only one who knows this URL so it probably got automated. Does that happen? I wonder if anyone here knows a lot about archive sites that they could answer me, thanks!

Hello, I just went on The Way Back Machine but doesn’t understand well how it works. Yer video shall perhaps help me. I am looking for infos, such as KZbin channel names and other videos from an uploader, which at the latest in 2012 but perhaps 2011 uploaded my favourite acoustic version of a female singer and an Asian looking guitarist with a moustache and long hair, titled: Till there was you (Acoustic cover) - KZbin I don’t the video but lost it on some hard-drive. Fortunately I kept an MP3 version of it. The video seems to have vanished from YT. And I wish to know if the uploader had the video in some other platform by any luck. Regards and thanks a lot. Are you a troll? Basically you have to know the address for whatever it is that you're looking for iw your link. If you can't get the link to work go to the website itself I eat whatever the website you're trying to access through the Wayback machine and try that this is very annoying and time-consuming but if you really want something and you'll do it. These are not interactive me menus if you get something it is a snapshot of something you might have rudimentary function for certain archives saved but you will not get everything save. So if you had a picture of the new site that she is got above it might play one video or it might do one post that I had. You would have to go to the archive that she's talking about before you could find any other pages. It is better if a new literary site. They're easier to photograph and they're easier to maintain and while the menus make me crazy like I said not interactive and some work and some don't. It's actually a basic tool to help you access things that you might think are gone forever. It is not for shirts and giggles.. stop bothering that woman.

Does it really store videos? I have a few deleted videos I want to watch again, and I managed to the get the URL's but wayback machine just says, "it has not archived the URL" when I enter it and it just saved the page that says "This video is no longer available"

it archives the URL and what is depicted on that web page the day it was archived. it those URLs weren’t archived while the video was up, you unfortunately won’t be able to access them through the URL.

It wouldn't work on KZbin why are you being a dumbass on purpose. Take some sites like archive our own. It is a literary saying and therefore it works on literary things mostly. If someone declines to be in said program obviously they cannot do it. KZbin makes their time and their money off of current moments if you want to say something you need to download it. Even back in the day they had a way to do that but it isn't Wayback machine. I'm not going to say it doesn't say anything like that to save music or games and things like that but you got to know what you're looking for.

I always found it a joke. You type something in, tells you success, but nothing appears. Since Google had no involvement in it, the team behind Wayback would not have Google’s secret and protected patents and source code to archive deleted pages. Besides, Wayback could contain sensitive personal data that should not be public.

I just found out that Three Network Ireland suddenly put an Adult Filter on my internet (apparently the Wayback Machine is classified as adult content). So annoying. Had to jump through hoop for 30 minutes with their customer service to prove I'm over 18. Now to wait 24 hours for them to update their servers .
