+1 on the drip pan. Let Richard struggle with the clean up. Food looked perfectly cooked with the pan!

Newport hey ya! I open them up to get it going and then close them a bit if it’s cooking to hot or fast.

Richard Kaiser Have you tried it? Once those top vents are open nothing but a full blockage will stop the air from ripping through the BBQ. Cleaning up with no drip tray is a bitch!

Air is ripping through, no doubt about that...BUT the walls of the pan deflect it from the coals :) I line the bottom with a piece of foil keeping the vents free ;)
