The way I do it is max the 3 titles first. Horsemaster, Eored Leader, then Rohirrim. Then I max Chaotic Retreat, then Mounted Combat, then Riding Excellence. I think Chaotic Retreat is NECCESSARY on Theo. Especially against Evil, because evil troops have such low defense to begin with, so you often are taking away all of their defense. One of the reasons I like him so much is because he DOES have counters and he does lose sometimes. It would be quite boring if he could win all the time. It makes it more tactical, deciding where to send him. I have been seeing less and less WK in PvP because most people have counters for him now. Overall I really liked the video, I just disagree that he isn't viable anymore. He is still excellent against Evil for a lot of reasons. Sorry for the essay lol.

Hopefully this Video makes me face less Theodens in the future :D Regarding the renewed i think Galadriel and Cirdan can purge debuffs of their units too (Galadriel even pretty relyable, but i´m not 100% sure tbh) Personally i think you can always satrt out your builds with Theodens R5 for farming, since esepcially low tier units (which are your only options in the beginning) really benefit of this. T1 horses become basically T2 statwise. But other than that another super enjoyable Video, and i hope to face you in the next season again :)

I have loved all your commander dives so far. You mentioned that your top 2 good T1 commanders are dwalin and faramir. I loved hearing this because I catch some flack for using faramir. I would love to see a faramir segment soon! Keep up the awesome content.

In regards to best T1 commander its hard. You cant go wrong with dwalin, he is good against both factions and sooo versatile. Faramir has the best burst of them. Haldir excels with his r10 and surpasses all other t1 as far as I can tell. But I yet have to see faramir r10 item fully refined in action ☝🏻👀

Maybe, his battle against Khaldoon, the composition could have less Bow Knight and a little more cavalry that abuses the speed. Maybe it was a good option. Your videos are excellent!!!

convener gives initiative just like e.g. blitz does, so when both armies have initiative the one with the higher speed attacks first, which will be cavalry in most cases

I dont think you should charge melee units theo into wk, unless specifically geared to mitigate burn damage. It's better to send specific wk counter; mounted units are expensive.

My Theo and cavalry are getting WIPED OUT by the heavy melee meta we are in, I am going to use him and Eowyn now as very fast scouts to capture tiles quickly, unless you have any advice?

That's why I stopped using Theo in combat. You may use him vs Sauron though. He has a few use cases left.

the unit/commander that hits first if they have initiative/conviner and the enemy also has the same is the commander army with the higher speed.Also have you tried bowknights with dispersion elite t2 skill? i know for a fact theoden with bowknights dispersion and mounten combat is the meta for s5 with archer gear that give archer attack

Yeah I always have Bow Knights in Theo's army in S5. I think towards the end of the video I briefly mention Bow Knights with Dispersion. But beware, don't go Bow Knights against Warlords.

@@FollowAzra i saw reports 1k warlords getting slautered by a bowknight theoden with archer attack gear because that theo had 2.5k bowknights warlords die fast if they dont burst down the enemy (i was gunda s5 so i know about warlords they arent as op as people think xD)

He has a few options as accessory and I think in this order it makes sense for Theoden: 1) Mearas' Reins [Fearless Cavalry] / [Might of Cavalry] or [Mounted Unit Supply] 2) Fiddle of the Eldest [Blitz] 3) Night Star [Opportune Strike] 4) Fiddle of the Eldest [Might of Soldiers]

On my server most of evil was whaled out with max star and refine on gear. Theo was getting destroyed left and right. I don’t think Theo is a viable option going forward against evil commanders. Even against high damage good commander such as gimli and Lego he sucks. I invested a lot in to Theo so it’s very disappointing that he is no longer viable.

Yeah, I think Theoden is overestimated against evil side... though I am curious how the reports would change if I had the gear equipped which recommended here.

I don't if I'd say overestimated as most people I know have never rated him that highly vs evil, he's always somewhat struggled with all the most common evil side commanders. However, it's a good side problem where evil always has a match up that no matter who you run they can blow you out the park if you hit the wrong commander, they just have so much variety available to them. For example last season I saw a R25 WK with full gold, Aegis helm and Tactical Mark/Pursuit. Facts are you're going to lose no matter who you have as that covers all good sides bag of tricks

Think you focus on initiative too much for a commander who's only not going to go first against other people who run initiative pretty much. For example vow of protection, theoden himself hits for about nothing so why do you need to go first in the 10% of fights where he isn't the fasted/opposition has initiative? Same with blitz, it's a large cost for occasional benefit. Mearas with the stun/madness immunity (3 rounds) is better as also gives a bunch of HP and attack as main attribute which is great. This free's up the head slot which has some good stuff. Theoden unique is terrible for the investment, mathematically it's just not that great vs non-uniques. Honestly I'd rather run the purple cutlass as value for investment as it's pretty strong. Battered is too hit an miss, you mentioned the hoops it has to jump through (50%*33% = 16%) is just too small a chance but missed the fact that evil can also taunt you (Great beasts for example) and so can be a guaranteed 0%. WK isn't so much of a problem now, evil is moving away from him a bit unless they've found pursuit where he's still very annoying to deal with.

That's correct! Don't forget that your commander is also getting cleansed. Though in Theoden's case that's not as important as for a high damage dealing commander.

I run my Theo with his unique, hauberk with fire reduction, horsemen helm with anti stun, and meras reigns. It’s a hp/defense build that does well against even the most whaled out WK’s. Give it a try
