If you’re doing this, here are some tips against corrupting your files: 1. Make a backup save file on jk because you’ll wish you made one (speaking from experience). 2. If you’re like me and corrupted/deleted your files anyway, don’t worry. Go back to the save editor on your laptop and click on repair save. you should be able to fix it there. Restore the file again on JK and when you go back to your game your data is back along with the hacked stuff added. Great tutorial btw!! Thank you!!

Although I used the EX version to hack my own Tomodachi Life game, I still used your tutorial to help me process the steps to hack Tomodachi Life and it worked 100%, except the part that I could not make myself what food I like or dislike or upgrade my level, I was still able to make all of my miis be friends with each other and the best part of having unlimited clothing, money, etc. It was crazily so much stuff I have now! thanks! in one night i was able to homebrew and save edit my ds all thanks to your great video! just a word of advice everyone, the new save editor versions do not work at all so i recommend you install an older version , i really only used it to unlock all the streetpass and spotpass items so in that case make sure its one released after all of those were added! also, jk's save manager is the better software, dont use checkpoint

I wish I had found this earlier, I tried looking for this so my Mii liked what I liked but at the time I wasn't able to find something to help me at the time. Maybe I was just looking in the wrong places or didn't use the right words which wouldn't surprise me. I couldn't figure out how to get this to work but this tutorial worked! Before I used the newest version of the save editor, did the same changes, but nothing happened. So to be safe I used the exact version of the save editor you used despite it being 2 years old... so I'm unsure if that's why it worked this time? ANYWAYS, thanks so much for this tutorial! Now I can dye people's hair easily and have all the StreetPass/SpotPass stuff unlocked.

i followed the tutorial to unlock all the streetpass and spotpass items and it worked! :D it also set the in-game date and time to 4th of august 2037 at 3pm but that's an easy fix lol

@@nicoletine I've launched it a lot and I've seen that loading screen before, but just when I'd be creating a new game after restarting my island. It usually just loads for a few seconds then, but not for this long. This is my physical copy, so I tried downloading a digital copy and trying the process out on that, and after importing the new save file it loaded for hours again. So basically this is only happening when I load the edited/new save. I used Checkpoint too and it did the same thing

I have no idea, I am not the creator of this script. At the time this was working for a lot of people and people are still commenting that it worked.. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the github software or going to a later, more stable version?

this also happened to me! if u go to JKSM there should be a back up folder with a bunch of names. click one of the versions and there should be a document there with the same name as ur others. once u have that document, go to the JKSM and make a new file naming it something then dropping the file. after that re open JKSM and look for the file u just named and restore the data. if that doesn’t work try another back up file. it usually happens when u try to unlock the islands

Update: I made a new file (I basically did the entire video again) but this time only changed one thing, I put max money, and it actually worked! idk why this happens for some people. for some it works, some it doesn't. My first save game got corrupted when I tried this before, you should always make a backup. I think that you need to choose a different save file region. I'm sorry I can't give a more precise solution

Probably used an incompatible cheat with your save file.

I did say to make a backup! You can reimport your backup. However, this often happens because the wrong REGION was selected for your game version. The game has three different variations of code, it seems: EU, JP, & USA. Are you sure you had the right version selected? It shouldn't crash, but I do have reports of the software being unstable. If you don't want the corrupted thing to happen again, avoid the adding buildings, and if you wanna change anything to it once at a time. And make a backup file, then if it gets corrupted just select it and boom.
