Total beginner question... but how are the melodies being created? You must be plugging in an external digital piano that then takes on the characteristics of the selected instrument?

It's not actually a piano - it's a MIDI controller. Depending on your piano playing skills, you might use a full MIDI keyboard or, if you're just playing some simple melodies or programming drums, you might use something as simple as this www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MPKMini3WT--akai-professional-mpk-mini-mk-iii-limited-editon-white-25-key-keyboard-controller

why does the level vary when I cut and paste the exact same midi note on each quarter note to create a click track with the cowbell sound? It's really unusable, and UA's built in click is also unusable. I'm veryt close to going back to protools.
